Howard would probably hang me up in the barn for saying this, but as much as I admire TAQ and it's performers, the score is terribly feeble and personally a detriment to the film. Oh well, it wouldn't be too difficult to record, a very small ensemble of musicians and not a lot of music. I certainly would not listen to it more than once.
Last night I watched the Blu-ray TAQ on the projector screen and all I can say is that you could hear the music even with an unlimited amount of peanut butter in your ears. Oh my, such a wonderful restoration. Been humming the score all day. And seeing Charlie & Rosie in the mind's eye. Terrific making-of documentary, too, courtesy of 'our own' Nicholas Meyer.

I have only had time to scan it, but the Blu Ray on a 103 inch screen certainly shows the care that went into the restoration. Most astonishing is they were able to remove most of those horrible halos in the process shots, which were bad even for 50s standards. There are so many British scores I would love to do. Can you imagine a big multi disc set of Brian Easdale's music? And so many of those Ealing films have marvelous music, as well as the Disney productions in England.
Although Larry Talbot turns into a wolf in "England-Universal-California" at the beginning of A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN, just got to do that score, as well as Preston's holy grail NIGHT OF THE HUNTER. I will need a big batch of brewed tana leaves to get all these done or maybe just the Scroll of Thoth.

Too bad TCM runs the older transfer. The music sounds distorted. That is when you can hear it.
