I love that score… for me – it is probably James Newton Howard’s best score! (Besides – “Waterworld” – ) In regards to “Dante’s Peak” – it was a no brainer… ORDERED INSTANTLY! All we need now – to complete this set – is the first two James Bond scores to be released in their complete form – (eg. #2 CD Sets) – which star Pierce Brosnan as 007... Or does each track just contain one cue with no edits, and an existing stereo mix from 1997 was used? The booklet has a "mastered by" credit (Chas Ferry), "Executive Producer" credit (Cary Mansfield and Neil S. We had DATs available with the same content, but I realized the analog tapes were truly analog with an extended frequency response. The scoring mixer was Dennis Sands, who was also the scoring mixer on Volcano. Turns out it's not quite as insipid as my first impression had led me to believe. They're tracked with "Swinging Rope", the "Main Title," and "Terry In The Crater."    Posted:   Sep 15, 2021 - 2:45 PM     By:   richuk   (Member) When I first got the OST I thought the end credits was a composed cue because the middle part of it sounded 'new', but it was actually merely because they used the film version of the main titles. It was when I saw it not included on this set that I knew it had to be tracked, and had a go at recreating it, and as Neil said, it's just those three cues, with two microedits in the last one. Personally I think the spooky main titles would've worked better as an opening to the end credits (the 'Swinging...' cue always struck me as an odd opener), perhaps with the microedits restored helping to match the required length.    Posted:   Sep 27, 2021 - 7:36 AM     By:   12-Mile Reef   (Member) Both the Film version and Alternate version of 'The Rescue' are credited to John Frizzell and James Newton Howard while the album version is credited to John Frizzell only. Not usually into Frizzell's work and I'm wary of multiple composers chipping in, but overall this score is very entertaining. I recently watched the movie, hadn't seen it in years.
