Fred, I can understand your disappointment but the fact that some of the music was previously available on various library music LP's and CD's is known only by specialists and it's therefore obvious that Cosma doesn't care about it at all. Don't forget that these records by MPI or MCT were not aimed at the public at large but at professionals working in the media. Regarding the love theme from PRESIDENT FERRARE (very much inspired by Glass) which was indeed present in the selection from HITLER A HOLLYWOOD, you must keep in mind that this movie by Frédéric Sojcher didn't have an original score but was made up with music taken from LES AVENTURES DE TOM SAWYER, LE PRIX DU DANGER, LA 7ème CIBLE, LA TOTALE, LA MONTRE, LA CROIX ET LA MANIERE, LES COEURS BRÛLÉS, ALBERT EST MECHANT, LA FICTION (LES GUIGNOLS), PRESIDENT FERRARE, etc. A bad choice in my opinion is to have included for the umpteenth time the song Vieni qui and its instrumental rendition in POURQUOI PAS NOUS ? since this song was already available in the score from LA RIVALE in the 2d box. Beside the Michel Berny MBR CD of PETIT DEJEUNER / POURQUOI PAS NOUS ,? etc, mind that Vieni qui was also featured on the original CD's of L'AFFAIRE and LE TEMPS DES PORTE-PLUMES so that's pretty much enough of it ! Also more tracks from SAM & SALLY should have been suppressed since they come from CATHERINE & CIE, a score released in the 3d box. And regarding Mockin' bird blues, which was present on the LP of SAM & SALLY, it's normal to have it as part of LES GRANDS DETECTIVES, the score it really belongs to. As I already wrote it before, the real pity is that Cosma didn't find the complete tapes of SAM & SALLY, especially the 2d season (1980) for which he composed new music. Ditto with PETIT DEJEUNER COMPRIS in which there are some unreleased variations of the known themes. Still, there's a lot of truly unreleased material in this box to look forward to. How is the music from AUTO-AUTO for instance ?

Thanks for that outstanding long-awaited release (we have spoken with Laurent 3-4 years ago about this release #4) and they included some great titles as L’ADIEU AUX AS, LES GRANDS SENTIMENTS FONT LES BONS GUEULETONS, MEDECINS DE NUIT, VOLPONE, TANG, L’EQUIPAGE, DRÔLE DE SAMEDI.... and some more which previously released on EP only (i had them before and listened in poor quality) or some tracks released on CD compilations only main theme ... This time they are full. Because i'm not FRENCH i'm not familiar with many others titles / films - never seen those films before, never knew some or less from OST. But thanks for Laurent, he send me some other gems / movie rips from MADAME LE JUGE, LE PRESIDENT FERRARE etc - which are SUPERB music but never released (i'm saying our conversations 3-4 years ago) and they are Fantastic... for example some titles like CHATEAUVALLON also was unknown title for me before they released CD. These titles probably were famous in France. I'm not speaking of Michel Strogoff and other very famous TV-movies (not only famous in France, Belgium, etc) Well, for the moment i don't have that box-set . I can't say about Inedits/ Re-released / Same themes etc. And i don't think this 4th box will be FILL all COSMA Unreleased stuff, of course some will be remains unreleased. But this is indeed TREASURE. Thanks

Thanks Eda-88 for your message. This set has indeed a lot to offer. As an example, I like very much the score of LA JEUNE FEMME EN VERT, featuring the Bronté and Cosma himself playing keyboards (btw, he's often performing his own music in this stuff, even once on the violin for LES GRANDS DETECTIVES). Two scores don't sound very much Cosma to my ears: - LE COLLECTIONNEUR DE CERVEAUX: save for the main theme (reused very often as Floarea soarelui), I don't really recognize Cosma in the remainder of the score. Still, it's very good. - LA MER PROMISE: in this entirely synthetic score, I guess that the director Jacques Ertaud asked Vladimir to come up with these sounds, since he teamed up before with François de Roubaix. Emmanuelcap and Eda (once you get the box), here's a riddle for you : three superb library music tracks have been inserted in the score of AUTO AUTO. Do you recognize which ones ? I'm very satisfied to get them on CD. Enjoy ! Laurent

Exclusive to the set will be a separate CD soundtrack of the score- the first time it's ever been made available (according to Severin). Tis on digitmovies, as we all know.

Cosma´s DRACULA PÈRE ET FILS was never released on Digitmovies. Could it be that you mix this up with the DRACULA score by Claudio Gizzi? https://www.digitmovies.com/products/soundtracks/CDDM195
