I am pretty sure a score album will come very shortly. Bear has mentioned in several tweets in July that a full soundtrack album would be coming "next month".

No idea why people on this forum keep thinking that, especially given many of them HAVE CDs over 80 minutes. I have one that clocks in at about 86:45 myself.
Probably because film music albums that go over 80 minutes are exceedingly rare, if not nonexistent.
Not everyone here shares our taste for classical music as well, TerraEpon... and from my experience all my CDs over 80 minutes long are on big classical labels like BIS or Phillips, and they might have different pressing plant arrangements which don't put them at financial risk if they go over 79 minutes. So yeah, LotR is probably high profile enough that it *might* be the first film music CD over 80 minutes long... but why not just push it to 2CDs in that case? It worked for the Hobbit scores...

Indeed. I can also speak for McCreary's albums - he squeezes every minute he can into his albums - there are several that have a run time of 79 minutes and some change.
