Great release given how many years I've wished for a complete score so thank you so much LLL. However a couple of things could have improved the release for me. Firstly, there is a strange crash edit at the end of track 3 Civic TV. It doesn't sound intentional and I'm sure the cue would have originally faded out before it. As the cues are presented in film sequence, unlike the original release, it is a shame that the ominous 34 second opening melody was not incorporated into track 1 with a segway into Cable 83 'source' cue (I know these 34 seconds are at the beginning of 'Condemned Vessel' as they are in film when Barry Convex takes the stage at the trade show, but its use at the beginning always sets the sinister tone of the film.) Some tracks are not in film order such as "Civic TV" which should come between "Transformation" and "Cathode Ray Mission" which I guess is to create variety.

Obviously some of the cues are used more than once in the film such as "The New Flesh" so I understand why it isn't included in "Condemed Vessel" as it is unnecessary repetition and easy to re-sequence/repeat in itunes. That said, I wish the end credits had been included, which is "Piercing" but fades out around the 2 min 10 sec mark, as this adds a tragic gravitas of the final scene IMO. However, it is fabulous to have these unreleased cues.

Waiting to hear the music but so far I love the packaging on this. Excellent cover art of course but the disc design is great too with that wonderful VHS plastic texture that is reminiscent of metal knurling.

For such a short score too, 23 pages of detailed writing in the booklet is impressive! Thank you!

Finally got this through the door here in the UK. What a brilliant release! One of the great things is, as the poster above said, it’s a completely different listening experience compared to the original album. I was a bit obsessed with the film when it first came out and quickly snapped up the original vinyl release and the cd when it came out. This is such an incredible work from Howard Shore and this new release absolutely shines. So many slight changes in the sound mix bring a real new listening perspective.
Even though my original favourite track isn’t there anymore ( the start of ‘a slow burn’ which wasn’t in the film anyway!) it doesn’t even matter. And it sits nicely along with the original release rather than making it redundant. This kind of score might not appeal to a lot of you but for those it does, this is gold! Thanks LaLaLand smile

Hope Scanners is in the pipeline too.

Yes, that is actually still one my minor "grails" left. I do have an MP3 copy of the complete score somewhere, but a restored and remastered version of SCANNERS, CD or download, I'd love that.
