I'm sure there are others, but the first one to come to mind for me is Body Double.

My hero.

I was flabbergasted for years, this lush, lengthy, incredible score was passed over for an album.

I dreamt of Varese getting it.

When Intrada announced it, I damn near had a heart attack!

Jaws The Revenge (1987) teaser poster mentioned score available at MCA Records and tapes searched for it everywhere since watching in theaters on Dec. 87, promo released on 2000 and complete score on 2015.

Superman IV (1987) - saw on video, always wanted the Nuclear Man theme.

Fright Night Part II (1988) - nothing released until now

Friday The 13th (1980) - got the LP rerecording released for part 3 on 1982, but aways wanted the first score.

Pet Sematary II - underrated score that I thought would never be released

Child’s Play 2 - never liked the film, but the score grabed me from the Main Titles.

I actually remember quite a few from the 90's

Speed
Bad Boys
Twister
Money Train
Speed 2
Hey wait, I see a trend here...

Oh and Armageddon was a massive one for me. Still mad at the lack of HGW music on the album that was finally released.

Also just watched Training Day the other day. Still no official score album for that one.

Well, to be fair, Speed, Twister and Armageddon score albums came out only a few months after the song albums.

It's not like people had to wait for years.

That makes two of us! I was so happy to get this gorgeous, emotional, moody score. Love the strings and the synth, its action pieces, its intimate passages...all of it.

BODY HEAT is the first title that comes to mind.

ENDLESS NIGHT took a very long time to surface, which it finally did as a rerecording.

Bravo to whoever thought of THE COMANCHEROS.

As a kid, I searched forever for LPs of THUNDER ROAD and THE GIANT OF MARATHON. It was great to finally have those scores come out on CD.

I never did find a soundtrack LP or CD for THE ISLAND (aka THE NAKED ISLAND), but Criterion's Blu-ray filled my need after a very long time (I first saw the film in the mid-1960s on TV).

Due to the MGM pressbook, I searched high and wide for the soundtrack LP for OUR MOTHER'S HOUSE, unaware that it was only released in Canada. I found a copy of that LP many years later, and of course FSM released it on CD even later than that.

How has nobody mentioned THE OMEGA MAN and THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE?

I found those scores riveting from the first time I saw the films, never forgot them, and could hardly believe they got no LP release. I waited decades for those CDs!

Still waiting for a release of Mark Isham's The Getaway!

As someone who started collecting LPs in about 1973/'74, I can say that there were plenty of films I saw either at the cinema or on TV which made me eager for LP releases back then.

So yes, I "wanted" plenty - too many to mention - but I expected nothing at all. It was more of a pleasant surprise when something DID appear. And I'm talking about big film successes too. Zap mentioned THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE. That was one of the films I saw on the big screen and which opened me up to how great film music (main titles!) could be, but I don't remember actively seeking it out, or "expecting" it to be released. So I was never disappointed.

Oh I totally missed it said many years later. My bad!

Hmm, not to my recollection, but I'll take your word on it.

Twister and Armageddon were two big ones! I was so thrilled when I randomly found them strolling through Best Buy one day.

Now we need an Armageddon expansion!

Most I can think of have been posted. Predator, Die Hard and Speed 2 were big ones. I’ll add Lethal Weapon since that was either scarce or not at all (I can’t remember). I know Back to the Future had a tad on score as did Die Hard With A Vengeance, but they both were missing tons and were pathetic releases of their scores. I get why DHEA didn’t have much from my research, but I don’t get Back to the Future other than soundtrack releases with big songs were the thing. I must say Highlander is the big one still unreleased.

Yes.

I have good youth memories from CP3, scored by Cory Lerios and John D'Andrea.

lol-Chucky and I have had a very interesting relationship. When I was a kid, he embodied all my anxieties and fears. But, ten years and a marathon later, and he's one of my favorite intellectual properties.

CP3 had fun moments, but the score was a lot less memorable than what Graeme Revell did in CP2. CP2 still is my very favorite Chucky movie or show, and I literally jumped out of my bed when I saw that La La Land was releasing the complete score on CD. AND IT'S NOW GOT A PERMANENT PLACE IN STREAMING SERVICES!!! Just for completion's sake, I wish the scores for CP1 and CP3 got the same treatment and wide release.

There was also the World Premiere Recording of Hugo Friedhofer's Oscar winning score for "The Best Years Of Our Lives" performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Frank Collura, and boy, was I impressed!
