Would really be nice if LLL included all those great rock songs to this expansion. Be kind of a bummer if AC/DC and Megadeth have their most iconic songs left off.

Seriously?

Those weren't even on the original score album.

No matter what Neil and company does, someone will complain. big grin

Great score!
The 1993 soundtrack album contained 41 minutes of music, which is not bad at all. It will be very interesting to find out how much new music in La-La Land release and to see the tracklist!
I always really liked how Kamen so coolly combined the guitar with orchestra.

Same here, and I am curious if there will be orchestra-only versions of some cues, assuming the guitar and rock elements might have been recorded separately.

Prepare to be bummed. Keep your song CD.

I mean it would be nice if the QueensReich song was on there since Kamen did the orchestral elements for it, but it's not like it's a hard song to find.

It's funny, because I'm curious about the opposite; I wonder if the Queensryche song sans orchestra will be included, as heard in this scene, right before the car crash:

Official email announcement:

Available to order starting 12 noon pst on JULY 2 at www.lalalandrecords.com

La-La Land Records, Columbia Pictures and Sony Music proudly present a remastered and expanded 2-CD limited edition re-issue of renowned composer Michael Kamen’s (LETHAL WEAPON 1-4, DIE HARD, X-MEN) original motion picture score to the 1993 big screen, action-comedy epic LAST ACTION HERO, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John McTiernan.

Both a broad send-up and a legit celebration of high-octane action cinema blockbusters, LAST ACTION HERO called upon legendary composer Michael Kamen to provide yet another classic action score in his grand and unique fashion. The maestro behind the iconic LETHAL WEAPON and DIE HARD franchises (not to mention ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES, THE LAST BOY SCOUT, LICENCE TO KILL and more) proved to be the perfect pitch choice and LAST ACTION HERO is a notable work in Kamen’s canon – a dynamite, thematic fusion of classic orchestra and driving rock riffs.

Produced by Neil S. Bulk and mastered by Doug Schwartz from original digital stereo mixes, this deluxe, remastered release is greatly expanded beyond the original 1993 score album, featuring the Score Presentation spread across two CDs. Disc Two also houses the remastered 1993 score album, as well as additional music. Limited to 3000 units, the release boasts exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Al Kaplan, including new comments from the film’s director, John McTiernan and score orchestrators William Ross and Michael McCuistion. The blockbuster art direction is by Dan Goldwasser.

I just played the 15 minute suite that's on Youtube, and I am IN.

Same, and I'm in too. Been a while so I wasn't familiar with it. But ho boy. It's Kamen all right.

I never saw or heard the score since it came out around JURASSIC PARK which eclipsed everything

but you can watch more than 1 film per summer! smile (or in the +30 years after... it's a McTiernan movie with Arnie!!!!)

from the days they released a song cd first and MAYBE later a score-only CD... black cover vs white cover!

Wow, what a generous release!
When I watched the film a few years ago I noticed that there was a lot of music in the film that was not on the 1993 soundtrack release. More than 1 hour of music is awesome!

What I REALLY want is a CD of rock songs from that era that were not included in the movie.
Can you guys make that happen? ??

And the point of that would be...?

That is score

if you listen to the song the song is build arround the score

But yes some of the songs would have been nice to be included but oh well they can be heard other places smile

That is how they made soundtrack albums in the 90's - it was part of the whole hoopla

I read JeffM's post as a total spoof (based on the previous poster asking for the rock songs).

"Humour. It is a difficult concept. It is not logical"

Guess we've got a lot of STAR TREK fans around here wink
