Looks like this baby is finally getting a USA cinema release.

Hopefully the long awaited score release from Moviescore Media will finally appear.

Wow, the movie was made in 2009 (!). I saw it last year and thought it was an ok Dante vehicle, would have probably enjoyed it more as a kid.

Haven't seen the movie yet - but I'm recently on a Joe Dante rediscovery trip. And I love Navarrete.

How do you like the score?

How do you like the score?

As I mentioned earlier, it's a pretty straightforward, old-school horror score. But I suppose that's a breath of fresh air amongst all the sustained drones and stingers that are more common in standard horror movies these days (obviously not counting edgy horrors like those of Robert Eggers, Ari Aster, David Robert Mitchell etc. - they always have more interesting soundscapes).

Thanks Jonny, great post.
And I love Jennifer Lawrence too.
Some of her scores are better than Hans Zimmer's.
Who knew she was such a film composer?
Who's your favourite actress? Spamela Anderson?

Listening to the album for the first time in a while. Having trouble picking out themes, but still, a pretty solid score.

As to the film...Piranha to Looney Tunes is a hell of a run for any filmmaker, so of course I was looking forward to this one several years ago. An earlier post compared it to The Gate and while the vibe is certainly there, the heart (to say nothing of cool effects) certainly isn't. Also, people even now complain about Explorers's third act being too goofy, but when you see how tone-shifting serious the last 20 minutes of this film is, you will pray for Robert Picardo hamming it up in Bottin latex.

The film is very interesting, it will suit people who love horror movies.
