Moi on our message board. It's such a massive under taking and the 40+ projects we have going right now we felt it would be best to take our time with it and get it out next summer -- perhaps to debut at Comic Con.
That's a shame, I'm rewatching the show (halfway through the second season now) and the music is such an important element. I love the earlier release with the sound fx (I actually think they're well placed) and would love more of that music to get released. But it's still nice to know it'll be released eventually and I rather see la la land do a proper job on this so I can wait. I must wait.
Just don't push back the Storyteller release, cause I'll hold santa hostage I tell ya

40+ ??!! wow! too bad The X Files are delayed, but indeed: better do it right. there's lots of great music to wade through. can't I help ??
I also agree on taking the time to sort it out with Snow. Think of all the palette of Snow, so we'll enjoy his style to the fullest.
The X-Files was a show with too much music... But it was so important to the show, that I was wondering why Snow (which seems to be involved in his music being released) hadn't yet put a cd boxset of X music.
But I will also grab my copy of this set in the first place. Some of his cues can bring so many various emotions, and all that with a synthclavier! Marvellous work!!
I own almost a copy of all his scores. My favorites being Millennium, Conundrum, In The Line of Duty and Crazy in Alabama.

Add another 6 discs or so and we won't hold it against you.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed that we're not getting it this year but I agree with the previous posts. I'd rather see it done right. We've waited long enough for a proper X-Files music release so I can wait a bit longer. Im just happy LA-LA is bringing it to us.
Lately I've been catching some episodes on SyFy (still getting used to how that looks). Anyway it brings me back. I grow more excited thinking about this project. I wonder if the series will come out on Blu-ray by the time this new release is out next summer. LA-LA if you need any kind of input from us through the year im sure we'd be glad to help I hope Mark Snow signs some copies!
I for one (though I was (and am!) hugely excited about the possibility of this release) am a little relieved that I can save up the pennies for another year. There have been so many fantastic releases that I've refused to pass up that I need the financial break.
I'm almost at the end of season 4. Going into unchartered waters as I stopped watching it during this season many years ago. I have to say the music dominates many episodes and dominates well.

I agree. The music definitely played an important role in the series. It completely sets the mood of the show and helps tell the story of each episode. It wouldn't be the same without it. Mark Snow's music gets even more melodic in later seasons. I'd say from about season 5 on.
