ARRRGGHHH!!!!! This kind of piracy, and then censoring those who spoke up for the law, makes me truly infuriated... and I don't use that word lightly. mad

Look at it this way, they are now all looking at this thread. I am sure they are laughing (because that is what internet anonymity does, empower gutless wimps who probably got pushed into lockers in school), but man karma is a bitch and she's in heat.

Dear Lukas,

I think that I speak for a lot of people on this FSM board when I say, that we are deeply grateful for your hard work and effort. I for my part am an avid soundtrack collector and enthusiast for years now. When I discovered this board, I was so happy to share my thoughts and feelings on film music.

I am an Illustrator and I have published some books already. If I'd find aout that people publish illegal copies of the books instead of buying them, I would be pretty angry or at least dissapointed too. So I completely understand how you feel right now.
But PLEASE reconsider and stay in the business!!!

I'm sure most of the people here on the board wouldn't even be satisfied with just a download. They want the real thing, a real disc set to put in their shelfs. I do!

We need dedicated people like yourself.
Plese reconsider!!!

Jerrald

They've deleted Lukas' post, too. Maybe a sign of being pro-illegal download?

Since they removed every negative comment, yet the thread full of positive reinforcement remains, I think you've got your answer.

Lukas, while I share your upset, I want to recommend to delete the link from your initial post here. The thread over there is closed, so flaming is not possible and the link might only point others to the download.

From what I've observed, Varese has been pretty successful at scaring sharing sites off their product. Why not consult with them, Lukas?

I agree wholeheartedly.

Well, if they're looking right now...

The really disturbing thing for me is that so many people don't even seem to realize they are doing anything wrong. The whole piracy thing has been brought to a point where people think it's normal to just get all the stuff for free...

Can Paramount be induced to help? After all, they are the owners of the music, and they probably have a lot of legal firepower devoted to fighting piracy.

I think I speak for Lukas when I say it is not simply a matter of reconsideration but financial considerations; if you do not make the cash because of the theft, you cannot stay open.

A friend of mine named Ian just wrote this on my Facebook:

"Though with non-torrent sites, it's not hard to remove with a DMCA takedown notice. You don't even go after the site, you go after the file uploading service."

I do not know much about it, but it seems there are ways to take action.

Yep. This is the culture we live in now. Everything up for grabs with no care or thought about the hard work that went into it, and the expense.

Putting on my lawyer hat, I am perfectly willing to donate any time needed to assist Lukas in shutting down sites like this FFS site. They are violating copyright laws, a certain studio takes dim view of such things as well.

A review of other threads on thatg board shows that they have a no VS posting policy among others (Howling Wolf, etc)

Sorry about this Lukas. I don't mean this to be cold comfort. But if anything, I think there's a big difference between true-blue soundtrack consumers (especially loyal FSM fans) and the "general" public who partake of stuff like this.

Yeah I had no luck getting onto the site either.

Hopefully there is enough info provided on this person who uploaded the files that you can go after him or her.

Lukas, I wish you luck in stopping this nonsense. Their complete insensitivity to the flip side of what they're doing adds to the insult.

Abominable.

I posted in a different thread at that forum which talks about what music can't be posted. Go to the end of the thread to see my comment, and add yours before we're all banned. smile

Sadly, I agree. The computer has conditioned an entire generation to think that music, movies and photography should be free.

THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG JEW.

Look how quickly I was able to get this information.

Apparently the owner is named Sarah. This is her Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/sarahgogo

Her email is ender@tds.net

Proof that Sarah is the right woman:
http://forums.rpgamers.net/showthread.php?t=687
http://forums.ffshrine.org/members/sarah-4
http://wiki.comjuice.com/browse/site/ae-ffshrine.org-220748.html

She is going down.

Please email her and tell her either Sarah or Lukas is getting a new line of work.
And I have DECIDED: It will not be me.

Lukas
