I swear every time I see this thread has been bumped I get excited on if someone has gotten their signed CD.

Hopefully we'll get them here in a few days. Seems like Dan the Man is done signing.

Excuse me if this question has been answered, but are we to receive an e-mail from Warner Brothers once this is ready to go? I called WB customer service, they looked up my order, and she had no information about this CD.

I'm not sure about the single CD, but I would imagine for the big box set, well get an email with possibly a tracking number. Seems right considering the price of the big box set. Though I'm not involved in any of this, I'm just using my noodle!!

Yes. Originals. What else would they be?

well -i mean - are they newly-recorded or just taken from the score - if so, does the mars attack main title have the introduction with and does it end like in the film ?

Not newly recorded and I haven't even listened to the disc yet. I'm just putting it into iTunes and submitting the tracks to Gracenote.

I'm not as familar with MARS ATTACKS! to tell you that information. I only saw the film once and aside from the Marian Girl and the music I hated it so I wouldn't remember specifics.

Um, maybe I'm missing something, but going by the track titles, weren't all of those tracks already released on the OSTs of their respective scores? Well, with the exception of "The Danny Elfman/Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box Suite," obviously, and the Beetlejuice "Main Title (with Elfman vocal intro)." Is the only new, substantial addendum (provided the aforementioned suite isn't of great length, as I can imagine that would sound amazing if it was), or enticement, that it's signed by Elfman?

This topic has been discussed to death and I am not going to comment further other than to list what is on the disc I got. I will say the suite (track 1) sounds like a music box version of the themes you hear on the website. It's quite lovely.

The contents of the bonus disc have been discussed to death? If so, my bad, but I was under the impression that you were the first person on the board to reveal the track listing...

In any case, I thought the music box variations of the themes featured on the site were already on one of the discs. The suite on the bonus CD strikes me as containing music box variations of themes from all the films on which Burton and Elfman have worked. Eh, whatever. If nothing else, this track listing should make those who didn't get the bonus CD feel a little better. Other than Elfman's autograph, they're actually not missing much of anything.

I just don't want to participate in another angry discussion over this box. THAT is what has been discussed to death. I didn't think I needed to be specific and as I now see, contentious discussion is nearly impossible as someone is always bound to take offense.

I think many are a bit surprised by the tracklisting only because the emails we rec'd made the CD sound a bit more exclusive in terms of the music included. Sounds like it should be called Greatest Main titles and themes

That being typed, at the same time any "exclusive" music should have been part of the box set to begin with. that should have included 2 Disc sets for films Like Batman and I guess in the end the compete film scores for each included score in the box set. Based on the price of the box set.

The above wasn't an angry post just seems like the longer the wait the more I am feeling less enthusiastic for the set in Feb.

Back to the BONUS CD How did it arrive USPS?

Super! Now I know to stalk the postman, not the UPS jerk (who would no doubt deliver it to a random neighbor,) or my nice FedEx guy.

Thanks James!

So....they give a bonus disc, and it contains a compilation of stuff people are already getting in the box?

I mean.....what the hell are they smoking? Seriously?

A thank you for being patient gift/disc with music by Danny Elfman, that also happens to be Autographed. What's the problem? They didn't have to do this.

My bonus disc arrived today, and it sounds great! I got especially excited when I heard PEE WEE and BEETLEJUICE sounding so crisp and clear. This box is seriously the release of my dreams, and I'm thrilled to have a small taste of it early.

As for those of you who are disappointed with the contents... what the hell did you think was going to be on this 17th disc in the first place? It seems like they've included everything (and I mean everything) that is worth including on the other 16 discs, and even a good amount of material that isn't. What could possibly have been on this release that would have met your standards? If Elfman wrote and recorded a replacement score for ED WOOD, would that have done it?

I don't know Richard Kraft personally or anything, but I think it's really tragic that a few loud-mouth a-holes here really drove him to drink whenever he visited the board. Every time someone like him decides to participate in this board, they wind up running away screaming. It really seems like Kraft's motivation in visiting was in wanting to put together a highly inclusive release that contained a lot of the material that people would want. Now that the contents of it are public, you've got the option to either buy it or not buy it... what else is there to really say?

Does the fact that there will be more than 1000 of them change your decision on whether or not to buy it? I think it's a great thing because it means that if someone out there really wants it (and can't afford it at the moment), they might be able to somewhere down the line without paying a significant mark-up from some reseller.

As I see it, the absolute worst thing you can say about this release is that it wasn't ready at the end of December, as originally stated, but how many releases miss their projected release date? FSM's POLTERGEIST was in the hoper for a long time, but it's here now, and it's great. So what's the big problem?

Fingers crossed I get it tomorrow, please please please, I can't remember if there is mail on New Years eve, I hope so.

I'm excited to hear Pee-Wee and Beetlejuice as someone already mentioned sounded so CRISP. I'm excited.

Er, is this partially directed at me? I thought my tone was more-or-less neutral. I just meant that the bonus disc was touted as an exclusive treat for those who pre-ordered the limited edition music box via Warner Bros., and it seems to essentially be just main titles with improved sound quality and a couple of previously unreleased tracks (if I'm wrong, let me know...I'm just going off the track listing and what others have said). It'll probably tide over most until they get their entire music boxes, which I guess was the main goal (that, and having Elfman's autograph), but I, and many others, thought that the contents would be more "remarkable" than they were, given the unforeseen delay and the promise of something special for those affected by said delay. Assumptions were made and speculation was rampant, but they weren't unwarranted given the marketing.

Fair enough. I didn't take offense either, for the record. Just apologizing for a possible misunderstanding. That's it.
