Broken Arrow was the score to make me despise Hans Zimmer's name on anything for the better part of a decade. Awful, awful "music".

Let's not be mean, now. Let's leave this thread for those who want to celebrate the release and its music.

While I'm not a major fan of this score (or the film, come to think of it), I agree with this sentiment. Enjoy the discs, guys!

Thanks La La. I am pretty sure I'll try and get the Zimmer title.

Now all we need are expanded THE ROCK, FACE/OFF, ARMAGEDDON, CON AIR, THE PEACEMAKER, THE LAST SAMURAI, and THE THIN RED LINE.

I'd like to see...
BLACK RAIN and CRIMSON TIDE expanded and the premiere of DAYS OF THUNDER!! big grin

I would buy all of these, plus the Pirates scores.

AH!!! A dream of mine has literally come true!!! My favourite score and my favourite Zimmer score! I am *super stoked* about this release. I never, ever thought Id see the day! I remember clearly seeing the LOTR expanded sets some years ago and thinking, "Broken Arrow will never get an expanded treatment" - and now it is!

THANK

YOU

LA LA LAND!

What a nice surprise! I dig Broken Arrow and look forward to 30 unheard minutes (not a film I'd ever see, but '90s Zimmer action music is tops with moi).

You've never seen it? I'm not a big John Woo fan, but it's definitely a fun popcorn movie.

Milan's Broken Arrow CD from 1996 is 59 minutes and 14 seconds long, and I was never happy with the arrangement. I more than welcome a 116-minute release as long as it is C+C with bonus/alternate tracks. I don't want suites from the Milan release included.

I would love to have an expanded Crimson Tide w/seperate track listing perhaps please?

As for Black Rain & Days of Thunder, both are Paramount titles. So there's hope. smile

OK, I just went and looked up the soundtrack on youtube... and I'll probably be getting Broken Arrow.

Can I wait, though? Does anyone think a 3000 expanded Zimmer will sell out fast? I don't, but I'm no expert.

If a 3000 expanded Williams like "HOME ALONE" doesn't sell out fast (or a 5000 Elfman like BATMAN, etc etc..), I think we can be almost sure that a 3000 expanded Zimmer will not sell out fast...

I don't think it will sell out for a long time. Neither will Rain Man. We've got breathing time before purchase. smile

Question about the original Milan release: while arranged into suites, was the music otherwise still in chronological order? It sounded like it was to me, but I never listened to the CD back-to-back with watching the film, so I was never really sure.

Not "arranged", just edited !

Cues butchered and put together... No rearrangements... wink

What would Hans Zimmer know about rearrangements?....roll eyes

I think Broken Arrow is an interesting release because most Zimmer OSTs feature the music re-arranged into lengthy suites that aren't chronological and sometimes feature music that isn't in the film.

The new LLL release will presumably feature the film cues in chronological order, featuring many shorter tracks than is typical of a Zimmer release.

I wonder if LLL consulted with Mr. Zimmer at all on the release?
