Received it today. Will be playing it soon...
Unfortunately, the track lists (particularly the one on the inside of the inlay sheet, for Disc 2) show what looks like the type's drop shadow layers being messed up and way out of alignment (by about half-an-inch!). At least, that's how mine is. Is everyone else's like this?

Where's the music for Cain's confrontation with Baltar's base ships at the end of "Living Legend Part 2"? None of the last few cue titles sound appropriate.

That was a recycled cue from the climax of "Gun On Ice Planet Zero" which means you'll find that music on Volume 2.

Great catch, Eric - I was trying to remember where I'd heard that piece.

This is what I was referring to. The reverse side is the same.

No biggie to me but it looks like a drop shadow layer got bumped out of place. Can't wait to hear this.

Sure seems so. The drop shadow was supposed to keep the white lettering legible where the background image was light. Doesn't seem like a printing error, because the black seems to be in correct registration on the image and on the side "volume 222" graphic.

Kudo's to the art designer. Faces, facing in, not out and your eye moves from the top left all the way around each graphical element never leaving the page.

Ah, First Pressing Blues. I'm sure future printings and pressings will clean that up, but us early purchasers will get an interesting artefact.

Id like to Applaud Intrada for including never released before music from Mission Galactica and Galactica 1980. Props for getting it out to the masses. But by making this release the final release, a very interesting problem is created. Music from a bunch of episodes in second half of the season are missing. Most noticeably the finale HOG which had original music is missing. So now we're back to the dilemma of which set to get which Im not sur eneeded ot happen.

If you get the hard to find Stu Phillips Battlestar Galactic Released music with every single note from the series or the Intrada versions with the missing Mission Galactica and Galactica 1980

The ideal complete way would have been to release everything from the original set and then release mission and 1980 and other gems as another cd. But I am sure Im not udnderstanding sales(maybe rest of volumes not selling), not enough music for yet another cd, or damaged masters, or rights. Sales is my bet as only first volume sold out??

YES. I will buying all Intrada volumes and yes I have the original Stu Phillips hard to find 4 cd set.

Wanted to get my 2 cents in

These four volumes include all the original scores for the series, so I am not sure what you see that is missing. Intrada can attest to this. The final episode "The Hand of God" is found on volume 3. The 4-disc anthology set from years ago was great, but only featured short suites from the episodes, while these four volumes contain the complete scores for each episode that featured original music.

Well, technically the episodes "The Lost Warrior," "The Long Patrol," The Young Lords," and "The Magnificent Warriors" are about 1/2 to 2/3 complete. The masters for the rest of those cues could not be found.

It's safe to say that Intrada has released every note of Galactica that has survived, and in fantastic sound - especially considering the age of the elements.

Mea culpa. I should have known better and it might help if I had purchased volume 3 already

As for the 4cds it ws mostly cues and not suites.

Given its Intrada I shold have known better than to think they would leave stuff out.

Doesn't seem like a printing error, because the black seems to be in correct registration on the image and on the side "volume 222" graphic.

It could be a prepress issue involving the *settings* for the drop shadow, as I can't imagine anyone making the drop shadow a separate layer.

If the tray card was done in Adobe InDesign there is a chance the designer was using a newer version of the program than the printer, as large companies upgrade slower than small companies/individuals. This would require submitting native files in INX format which can be opened by older version of InDesign.

This normally works OK, but I have personally seen situations where drop shadow settings get changed/ignored when an INX file from a newer version of InDesign is opened in an older version of InDesign.

Just to be totally clear, the Intrada seven-disc set contains every cue that was in the four-disc Anthology set, right? I never acquired the Anthology but as of yesterday I have the complete Intrada.

It's a shame that the complete scores for those episodes couldn't be found. Couldn't Intrada have done what FSM did with their Satan Bug and Lassie releases and released the remaining lost cues with sound effects and dialogue?

I don't know what the missing cues are, but my sense is that if anything had to be missing, I'm glad it wasn't music from what I consider the most important episodes. I'm very happy with Volume 4 and ecstatic about the whole set.
