There is a very nice cover of Barry's L-Shaped Room theme (T-Shaped Twist) by the popular west-coast group, The Jazz Crusaders (they later dropped "jazz" from the name. It is from their 1964 album Heat Wave. The entire album is on youtube. I prefer the trumpet-led version by JB, but the Crusaders tenor sax/trombone front line is formidable. In 1962, when L-Shaped Room was made, it is bizarre that JB did not record a commercial single of this piece. He was releasing singles left and right back then.
