As Summer turns to Autumn, surely we could have an update giving at least a possible shipping date?
I'm honestly just putting it at the back of my mind so I don't get frustrated. If it shows up, and is nicely bound and produced, I will be happy. If the print job and workmanship is sub par, I will just avoid buying anything from this publisher ever again. Luckily the ST music 2nd edition is in the very capable hands of LLL so that is something I will buy when it becomes available.
While this entire fiasco is murky, at best, what is clear is that the publishers have no inclination to communicate any such pertinent information, as in shipping dates.
If they don't have this inclination because they just don't want to, well, that's not good; if they don't because they themselves don't know, well, that's not good, either; if they don't because the expected shipping date is known but so far down the line, well, again, not good.
So, I expect until such time as they have the books and are shipping them, we won't hear a thing.
The one correlation here is, however, that it is lots of money and lots of time. (Though as of yet no exchange has taken place and no definite duration has been established.)
“This is your author speaking. I realize there is a great deal of very understandable frustration here. All I can tell you right now is that progress is being made. You're free to vent here and I totally get it--nobody wants to hold these books in their hands more than I do. Until we get a locked down date for printing there's just not much specific to report but I am hopeful that we'll have news in the near future. I would love to have this in peoples' hands by the end of this year--once we have concrete news you will see it here. Until then, in Goldsmith's name, carry on...”
Given the lack of information, I'm going to make a wild guess here: The Kindle on-demand printing proofs did not meet their standards and they're still looking for a printer who will not bankrupt the project. I'd say this is good that they didn't just go with something that was substandard to end this ordeal.

It is nice to get ANY sort of update, so this is appreciated.
This bit, though... "I would love to have this in peoples' hands by the end of this year"... Not entirely reassuring, tbh. Possibly not until 2025? Not much we can do about it, though, I guess.

I thoroughly appreciated Jeff chiming in and basically offering an apology for all the delays despite he's certainly not the one who should apologise publicly for the publisher's conduct. It speaks loudly about his integrity as a person and as a professional, in addition to him being the worldwide authority on Jerry Goldsmith's studies.
I'll keep waiting patiently for the volumes to be ready for shipping whenever everything has been double-checked and triple-proofed for publishing. I've waited DECADES to read such book... I can wait a few more months easily.
