Does it seem to anyone else like McNeely suffers from the acutest case of Williams temp track love? Aside from Kaska's obvious aping of "The Battle of Hoth" in "Battling the Kaylon" and "The Adventures of Mutt" in "Training Exercises" (and maaaybe a bit of "Yoda's Theme" somewhere else in the opening episode), I kept hearing little bits pop up in McNeely's tracks. I swear I heard "The Shark Cage Fugue," "March of the Resistance," "Hyperspace," and the JP carnivore motif, and that's just what occurs to me off the top of my head. Kaska does it, too, but his original melodies are sweeter and more numerous than McNeely's, so it doesn't sting as much. This isn't damning, of course—it's a fantastic album and some of the most satisfying music I've heard this year—but as someone who's trying to whittle this down to a manageable number of individual buck-twenty-nine purchases, I must say it's lowering McNeely in the power rankings.

JMc has always had temptrackitis. In his favour he, usually, manages to be enjoyable.

Straight from The Department of the News is There is No News: THE ORVILLE---Seth MacFarlane commented on the future of the sci fi tv series, “All I can tell you is that there is no official death certificate for THE ORVILLE. It is still with us. I can’t go any further than that at the moment. There are too many factors.” Scott Grimes added, "I do know that we are still talking about it. It’s not dead in any sort of way whatsoever. It’s just about when, where and how and building the stuff again. I’m excited because it’s one of the greatest things to work on. So I just have my fingers crossed. And I know Seth wants to do it and that usually holds a lot of power. And I hope he gets to because it’s one of his babies that he just loves and it’s a blast to work on.” (Taken from two threads by dragon53 in the last few days)

Good. Now we wait about a year for final approval, contracts, cast ready, then another two years for scripts, sets being re-constructed, filming, special effects. Maybe 2027. Sigh.

YES!!!! I’ve been crushed recently with the news that Lower Decks is ending with Season 5. This picks me back up from that, a bit. Yavar
