Just saw the concert last night in Denver, the reduced orchestra version, and for all the limitations inherent, it was a tremendously fun evening for me and my wife and 17-year old daughter and a couple of friends from WAY back. Given how much others had talked about the dialog and the sound effects, for me the music was more than adequately present. And there was a lot of enthusiasm in the crowd for the program and especially the musicians, who at the end gave the audience the Vulcan salute, which got a big whoop! (Denver has always been a big town for Sci Fi and Star Trek; we had the first major Trek mail order business in Starland - so it was a nice trip down the 50-year memory lane.) *The theater was so packed that I didn't bother picking up the program and CD last night, instead ordered them this morning from the Ultimate Voyage website, used my Visa bank card, no problems.

Hi, Z! Sorry you missed it, it was at the Paramount (a fun if slightly decrepit 1930s era theater in downtown Denver, for those not lucky enough to live in Colorado). It got moved around and just about zero publicity. I had to track it down on the dedicated site. I decided to purchase the cd because I enjoyed the program and mix of eras, and was too lazy to put my own version together (since of course I have every note of Star Trek music ever put to CD). As others have said, it's not exactly flawlessly played, but it has energy and enthusiasm to spare.

As others have said, it's not exactly flawlessly played, but it has energy and enthusiasm to spare. I also went to the Denver concert at the Paramount. It was lots of fun! Actually, I thought it was one of the more "soundtrack accurate" live orchestral performances I've ever been to. There were a couple of moments when the traveling show orchestra may not have played it perfectly, but it was really an excellent performance overall. We went to see Star Wars in Concert at the Pepsi Center a few years ago and the orchestra there sounded exceptionally good too. The Pepsi Center in Denver is a black hole for sound quality as their sound system is horrid but the orchestra that night seemed to overcome the Pepsi Center's usual audio failings. I would love to have see this performance -- or any other music to screen performance like this Star Trek one -- at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles where the concert hall acoustics are supposedly pretty much perfect. I never thought of looking for the CD at the concert (silly me) so I will be buying it from their website store. I am glad you enjoyed the concert. Sincerely, Jeffrey

"It's Back" What does that mean? Can we start ordering it now? What I mean is - I'm from Australia - and as I stated above - when I tried ordering it, The following message appeared: THE TRANSACTION HAS BEEN DECLINED BECAUSE OF AN AVS MISMATCH. THE ADDRESS PROVIDED DOES NOT MATCH BILLING ADDRESS OF CARDHOLDER. or hopefully.... "It's Back" - means we can now use "Pay Pal" to order.... Actually - I wouldn't mind ordering a second hand copy - as they charge over $25 for shipping! I'm in Japan and can not order this from web site. Japanese card dos not allow AVS. So Japanese dealer ARK SQUARE listed this CD. You can order it. http://www.arksquare.net/
