I'd play the Mancini sound samples regardless. Guess I'll have to watch the movie, too. What's intriguing is it's 3 cds. That's alot of music even for a 2.5 hour movie.

Two discs for the full film score. Third disc is almost certainly the original album.

Holy smoke - WILD WILD WEST!!!!!!

Oh my lord! This is my most wished-for TV music ever (except for Billy Goldenberg's Columbo scores). Day one purchase for me.

Tiomkin's Wild, Wild West involvement (including his ten zithers idea) was described in this Film Music Society article:

Wow, a Silver Age movie and TV series from the same period. Seven discs altogether, and in the same cycle. In 2017.

Damn.

Great Race was originally supposed to be a 2015 Black friday title and WWW was initially planned for a 2016 Black friday Title.

Unlawful was scheduled for May and then June this year

Fun LLL facts! wink

It's almost like Black Friday came early.

I guess that kinda makes sense, since two of these were originally Black Friday titles that just came late! smile

I sampled three cues from "Unlawful Entry".

Good God, was this some kind of last-minute rush score done on the cheap? Not a shining moment for Horner, in my opinion. Still better than "One Day in Auschwitz" though.

Meanwhile, at the CD factory.

Yeah Entry had 2 or 3 cues I could latch onto. Nothing else in it for me. Though now that he is gone I feel compelled to pick this up... not a good reason I know. Wish this Horner title would have been RED HEAT! A better Horner throwaway score imo.

Unlawful Entry is a strange choice. One of Horner's weakest scores. The Intrada was fine. There are plenty of other Horner albums in greater need of remastering and/or expansion. IMHO.

No wonder we get bad CD's sometimes -- that plant has to be the size of a McDonald's Happy Meal box.

Yeah, it's far from Horner at his finest. I find the score borderline intolerable.

I own the Intrada album, it's an alright score not my favorite. I'm excited for the Mancini. I hope we get some Williams later this year.

The MT for Unlawful Entry is great. The rest? Hmm. My first Intrada CD, though, so it holds a special place.

Unlawful Entry...seriously?! We don't have remastered or expanded versions of The Land Before Time or the American Tail movies, but we have a complete version of that droning piece of synth crap? What's next, a deluxe edition of Class Action?

The conversation usually goes something like this at a label: "Should we expand An American Tail or Unlawful Entry first?" "Unlawful Entry, OF COURSE." As I've said before, if it was easy, it'd be done. Both Land Before Time and American Tail have been on our list with UMG for years. They'll eventually get done, but these co-productions between UMG and Universal take a lot of time and patience.

Jon Burlingame said on Twitter that The Wild Wild West's set has "excerpts from 26 original scores!" So let the guessing begin!
