Just as Adam B. and Spinmeister have already posted above or in the previous page Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released in theaters 40 years ago today. As impressive as the music and presentation of the La-La Land Records 3-CD set is. The nearly 4 hours of music on the set is a bit overwhelming and exhausting in one sitting. Regardless of length it's still an excellent score. It's just a shame that Hollywood and most filmmakers these days rarely aim for this type of film scoring in the majority of sci-fi movies (or movies in general) of this scale.
