I tried good old-fashioned love making to Ballad of the Whale tonight. It just didn’t work. I kept thinking of the FSM message boards. Now I’m thinking the theme to Patton would be better.

What for? Slapping her and calling her a coward?!!

Apparently this Borg has been a member for ten years, but its interesting that he would come out of nowhere with this attention-seeking post right after Marshall gets the boot...

I decided it was time to join the community productively with conversation and my thoughts on film music. I decided to start with a question I often ponder when making love. What’s wrong with that?
I bought the CD just for "Ballad of the whale". From 1988 to 1990 I played it almost every morning whilst during my daily commute. It dragged me through that terrible time. Second favourite track is the section where they celebrate having freed the whales and 3rd "Market street". The rest of the soundtrack doesn't get much time if any at all. For the typical Rosenman I don't go to IV but to the uncut stuf like "Beneath the pota".
I guess that if you need music during sex, you shouldn't concern yourself with the soundtrack but with the partner(s) involved, and see what you can do there to upgrade the performance.
Nah needs to be Misogynist AND Racist to be full-on Marshall.
I'm sorry, nothing personal, but that's somewhat misrepresentative of the Bruce that I know.
On another note, if I wanted music to accompany any intimacy, it would need to be Shostakovich's 4th symphony. It starts strongly, has moments of contemplation between waves of intensity and builds to a shattering crescendo before subsiding into a quiet but meaningful coda that hints of further encounters. Oh, and it lasts an hour...
So, no one here has ever brought their girlfriend down to your room in your parents basement and said, "Hey baby, how about some mood music?" and then put on Leonard Rosenman?
Come on, that's how a score fan seriously gets it on, don't ya know.
This just made me laugh out loud! Fortunately, my coffee was already drunk.
Especially, as the first track that came to mind was "Over the Edge" (from PROPHECY).
