Thanks for the welcome, Mr. Phelps. I've enjoyed several of your threads and posts here during my years as a lurker.

I have only met that Thor guy. Twice, on Giorgio Moroder and Røyksopp concerts.

In August 2012, Mrs. Phelps and I enjoyed a swell evening with (Member). We ate dinner at La Closerie des Lilas. Our conversation lasted late into the evening. We discussed our fascination with 1965-75 era TV and film, as well as the resident "characters" here at FSM (Graham Watt's name was mentioned; more out of obligation than genuine awe). My wife and I enjoyed the evening and still recall it fondly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thus spake Jimbo! And what a LOVELY way to put it. It's a great, GREAT honour to have been mentioned at all, even if it was "more out of obligation than genuine awe". I do feel as though I HAVE actually met you now. In fact, in a way, I don't really WANT to meet you (plural) in "real life", because you would only be a disappointment. As would I. I'm even less awesome (as in "creating genuine awe") than I am on the massage board (sick). Having said that, I think I actually would like to meet some of you. Kansas is a bit far for me. We could do Santiago de Compostela. It's still a bit of a drive for me - over an hour - but I'm sure we could have a nice wander and a chat about the weather. Just don't mention film music! By the way, if Jim and Onya are there, will we have to do a crash course in Charley Mangle, John's Coal Train and Ornate Coalman in order to "pass the test"? Oh Lordy - what if it's all Brits? I don't know anything about football. On second thoughts, include me out. I'm much better as a hollow-gram. Even my dear wife tells me that, every day. "You get back to your computer". But enough of me. How are you? Glad to hear it.

As I recall, (Member) reeled off a few FSMers' names and then yours was followed by an awkward, impenetrable silence. Thankfully, our starters arrived immediately afterwards, thus cutting the tension. Having said that, I think I actually would like to meet some of you. Kansas is a bit far for me. I don't know anything about football. Dead singer Captain Beefheart referred to Ornette as "Ornate Coldman." I last visited Spain in 2014, but there was no sign of you anywhere. I encountered this same FSMer absence in London four years prior. I foolishly intend on visiting Londontown again this fall, so that should give everyone time to scurry like the rats they are.
