Since folks are all chiming in...

With the Sony moratorium lifted, what are the chances these days for Zimmer's A League of Their Own?

Nice of Roger to answer questions. I'll take a stab at it. If Disney has dropped the ball on the Legacy Collection any chance of Intrada bringing us, The Rescuers, Great Mouse Detective, etc? Also hope we see Land Before Time expanded from Intrada too! Oh, and the last of the Tinker Bell scores.

Roger,

Since Intrada has a relationship with Disney, might it be possible to see new/expanded releases of the "Star Wars" and "Indy" films??

Since Disney has their own record label, there would be no reason for them to license out to third parties. If they happen, I would expect to see them on Walt Disney Records.

Great. Unless they get their mastering game together, we're in for yet another botch job.

Has Disney released some bad expansions recently?

I think the problem is less with the Disney label per se, but the attitude of their marketing people and who they get to oversee such projects. We know that when done by the specialist labels like LLL, Intrada, etc., that expansion, mastering and the like will be taken very seriously. For Disney's marketing they'd be more interested in numbers of sales, and 'our' type of release doesn't appeal to the general public.

I'm not questioning the "likelihood" that Disney would be the ones to release remastered/expanded Star Wars and Indie. But I sincerely don't understand Rogers response. We know Disney has its own record label. But Intrada has a licensing deal with them and has been releasing Disney titles on their own label for years.

Probably only the titles they are WILLING to let out for another labels to do...
See MULAN for example of the opposite.

I'd be up for MUSSOLINI as well. I've gotten into Rosenthal's music over the last few years and this one's been on my want list since.

Very well then...let's give it a shot.

Another sale here if you can get it done.

Yes but Star Wars is not Escape to Witch Mountain. Star Wars is one of the crown jewels and I think Roger was suggesting that Disney would want to keep full creative and commercial control and not outsource a title like that.

Great, I too would like to chime in with a request!

Roger, Intrada is one of the few champions of Jarre titles, thank you. Any chance of the long OOP Intrada title - ‘Night of the Generals’ and any possibility of ‘The Professionals’? Would really love both releases. Thanks

Speaking of Young it would be fantastic to see his MURDER AT 1600 and URBAN LEGEND released officially but no idea who owns these two...

I do want to do 1600, I love that score. But it's Warner Bros. which comes in fits and starts. Urban Legend is one I've been pursuing but that is also tricky. As I've said...if they were easy, they'd be done.

Did Poledouris compose and record anything for Murder at 1600?

If so, I would be curious to hear it.

No, he didn't. He was supposed to score it but the problems on Breakdown (which had had to write 3 scores for because the movie was reedited so many times) took him out of the project unfortunately along with Bruce Willis who was supposed to star in the originally.

I believe the hold up on "Event Horizon" is the group Orbital, who even Paramount did not want involved in the project in the first place and it wasn't until Michael Kamen was hired that they were able to use them.

Here's one for you Roger how about some more Elmer Bernstein like Animal House and An American Werewolf In London? Also, will we see Goldsmith's The Public Eye soon?

Add me to the list for Mussolini by Rosenthal too.

One more favourite of mine that has never been issued on CD: THE KID by Marc Shaiman. Such a nice, funny and touching score. I's also a Disney title, but who knows...
