This week's suites. Maybe more in the week. Probably will be barely any next week (I got things to do). "Gunsmoke" Episode: "Slocum" Composer: John Parker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4ldAz12qOw "Greatest American Hero" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R32XS_FcmWM Suite #1 (of 2) for season three. If you're looking for the alien ship music, this suite has what you want and then some. "Tenspeed and Brownshoe" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX-c7hJXf9M Suite #2. Next week the final suite will be posted. "Police Woman" Various composer suites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0sivIjtnSE (Pete Rugolo) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYPjdVhWOoY (Richard Shores, suite #1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jx8Kb87OyZE (Morton Stevens, suite #2) Good lord, you want to talk about Stevens utter brilliance, just wait for the cue that begins at 3:12. It begins off immediately letting you know it's going to be funky goodness, then morphs into a funky fugue with at one point three different ideas going on at the same time, one of those a flute which then splits into TWO flutes dueling flutes which makes for essentially four things at once, and it works fucking gangbusters! ATTENTION MRAUDIO: Expect suites from this show and probably other projects, for at least the next year period for Stevens. Not necessarily every week, but you might want to check in Monday's after I put new stuff up. My God, Justin - you really outdid yourself with the Stevens No. 2. I know that piece at 3:12 extremely well. Just BRILLIANT, indeed! In the meantime, I will watch out for more Stevens goodness from you and thanks so much my friend!:-)

This week's suites. "Bunco" Composer: John Parker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWWf1lLq5Tk This was a failed pilot from 1977 that had Tom Selleck, Robert Urich, Milt Kogan, Donna Mills. So many big names, yet it wasn't full of win. And I just couldn't get over Selleck without the mustache, especially during that period. "Greatest American Hero" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FRwanHfdRY Final season three suite. The suite also includes two selections from the failed revival pilot. "Get Christie Love!" Composers: Elliot & Ferguson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LolCAcHF07Q I know what you are thinking: I don't recall Justin doing a thread for this show. Yes, there is no thread. Because there is only between four and six episodes available, and half those have no created composer. And, to cheat, I did a suite a while back to another episode, so without doing any additional work, here is another suite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uyWB5FFGmY "Police Woman" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIn0Fzrws5E (Morton Stevens, suite #3) It'll be two or three weeks before the next Stevens suite. "Tenspeed and Brownshoe" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soQsvSp92AE Final suite for the series. I hope you guys enjoyed the scoring as much as I did. Miscellaneous "Chicago Joe and the Showgirl" Back in my The Shirley Walker Odyssey Thread I noted: "There are some nice bits here and there, including one twenty or so second part that may be one of the prettiest things she ever wrote": https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=124520&forumID=1&archive=0 So I did a quicky job of going through the score to find other bits like that and made a quicky suite to give you an idea of the material I referenced. I don't want to spend anymore time on this until some label puts it out in great sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvY6JdZmSoo NOTE:
There will be little to no suites for probably two weeks. I have paper with mold and mildew I need to re-write by hand and it's a LOT of paper. I just won't likely have any time. And I'm a little burned out.

Let me know how you liked the 5-O DVD suites that I've sent you.

This week's suites. Like I said, barely anything each time for probably three weeks. Maybe four. "Police Woman" This is the only episode Markowitz scored: https://wwwyoutube.com/watch?v=Y0mLER8rpzg "Delvecchio" Episode: "One Little Indian" Composer: Richard Clements https://wwwyoutube.com/watch?v=zx8jJk6Krds "Captain Newman, M.D." (film) Composer: Frank Skinner https://wwwyoutube.com/watch?v=eiNvYf0-Amc Figure this one out. The score has had no release, but when uploading it, it tripped a copyright claim … not for the film, but specifically for the Main Titles by Skinner. They copyrighted a cue you can't even buy. Anyway, aside from any source scoring which I may have skipped, this is the entire score. By the way, did you know they made a failed television pilot based on the film? I wasn't able to nail down who scored it.

There may not be any suites this week. The power went out for hours Friday, so I had to wait to do "Hawaii Five-O", and that left me with some free time that I spent typing stuff up and editing a suite, so later today a couple suites may pop up depending on how much work is needed on the remainder and how much free time I have for them. The mix may include: a suite for a rejected score very very few people have heard because the promo is so obscure, a PW episode, and a pilot.

Okay, only two could be done: "Sirens" (rejected score) By: Geoffrey Burgon https://youtube.com/watch?v=-HuJ2eh01OI Three cues from his score. Rachel Portman did the final score. I have attempted to re-create his credit in the film without using fancy graphics; I found a font very much like the one for Portman, used a color like her credit, and tried to make the font sizes the same and place his credit in the same place. "Police Woman" https://youtube.com/watch?v=A3RTZZIAYJw (George Romanis) The suite covers cues from all the episodes he did.

Hints at the next TV series to be done: After "Hawaii Five-O", saddle up, cowboy. After I've complete all available episodes for "Matt Houston" and "Police Woman", gear up and prepare for the raid.

Apologies, but I wasn't able to finish any suites this week and probably won't be able to get anything done in time before the week is over. Next Monday the suites: episode super rarities, a pilot, and maybe a PW composer suite.

Okay, this weeks suites. "Police Woman" https://youtube.com/watch?v=0Pe9xLjVB7s (Gerald Fried) Selections from nearly all the episodes he scored. I can't recall why one or two episodes were skipped; possibly nothing worth doing, maybe too much SFX, maybe some sound quality issue -- who knows. I've included one cue which may or may not be by Morton Stevens. I honestly can't recall who originated it, so I decided to leave it in. "Shooting Stars" By: Dominic Frontiere https://youtube.com/watch?v=C1jhbmjnnp0 This was a failed pilot from 1983. Not anything worth covering in my pilots thread, but just enough worth hearing, so here you go. SUPER RARITIES:
As mentioned last week, here are two super rarities. These episodes recently popped up on YouTube whereas normally episodes almost never do for either series, so I made sure to record the audio before it was too late. "Gibbsville" Episode: "Saturday Night" (1.2) Composer: Leonard Roseman https://youtube.com/watch?v=v76iVfwJnNM Since I started checking for episodes years ago, only two have popped up, and one had no credited composer. "Storefront Lawyers" (A.K.A.: "Men at Law") Episode: "Let the Dier Beware" Composer: Richard Shores https://youtube.com/watch?v=Sn1aF5ddIgY This is the only episode I have found in years. Because of the super rare nature of the show, I've included the opening and closing music by Morton Stevens.

Only one suite today. Perhaps one or two more in the week. Hints for next week's suites at the end. "Police Woman" https://youtube.com/watch?v=1Ikcc4Ji4is Selections from episodes scored by Parker. One cue is either from a Romanis episode score or that episode tracked a one of the cues by Parker. I don't know, I didn't want to spend the time going back over it all. NEXT WEEK: The new semi regular feature: Curiosity Corner A Morton Stevens suite. And maybe a surprise or two.

|
TV series threads update: The western show I wanted to do, turned out to have slowed-down loads that aren't usable and not enough alternative links to regular speed episodes to even bother. I have, however, traded it out for another western series -- all familiar names. And a hint for the next series I will do: time to do a little crime solving and helping. (I've been waiting years for loads so I could not only do the show, but solve the composer credits on IMDb -- which I completed yesterday)

Monday's suites will include (but not be limited to) Another PW suite. A Morton Stevens suite. Maybe another suite from the same show this onw will be from (different composer). Possibly one "Matt Houston" suite. And for Curiosity Corner: David Shire. The Monday after next, or the Monday after that, the next Curiosity Corner will be Jerry.

This week's suites. NOTE: I'll be taking a few weeks off from the suites; doesn't mean there won't be any, but just not as many. I don't know when yet. Burn out and I need time to do personal stuff. "Police Woman" Score suite #2 for Richard Shores: https://youtube.com/watch?v=JT7Bru5pKD0 Please note that the series had a lot of tracking and as such, and there being so much music to go back through and no time to do that, there could be score that is not by him in the suite and other future suites. Also, for those who might be wondering why not suites yet for Immel, I accidentally skipped some episodes, so I only had a #2 suite. Then I found out in the later reviews he was tracked a ton, so I figure if I go back over the tracking, I can Frankenstein them and maybe come up with nearly SFX free edit jobs of cues. It'll be a time-consuming slog and I'd rather some label spoke up and told me they are on it, so I don't waste all that time... "Matt Houston" https://youtube.com/watch?v=678Wt7oKNHE Score suite #1 (of three) for Nelson Riddle. "Peyton Place" https://youtube.com/watch?v=GzhOsPuhEUw This is the only episode Morton Stevens scored. Given how much dialogue is spoken, I had to cut off parts of cues and this may not the greatest way to hear it, but it's the only way with no dialogue. For curiosity's sake and fans of the composer, though most of the themes are pre-existing. CURIOSITY CORNER:
This catchy fun little score (that should be released, quite frankly) is by David Shire. It's for a failed 1979 pilot called "Is There a Doctor in the House?". A mis-fire pilot that just didn't click and was rightfully passed on. Enjoy: https://youtube.com/watch?v=CU7-Y-AAXNU

Monday's suites will include (but not necessarily be limited to, although my time for editing on this Sunday has been cut down by hours, so who knows): Another "Peyton Place" suite (not, this will not be a regular thing, for now). The continuation of the Riddle suites to "Matt Houston". And an unreleased score to a TV movie. Ripped from the TV movie, if you wohves you some funky and/or disco scoring, this hidden gem is for you. Hopefully some label will agree! Next week I start "Cade's County". And sometime after that, I handle the fan request from this thread: "The Powers of Matthew Star".

This week's suites. "Cover Up" https://youtube.com/watch?v=sTy8h61Oy6w This suite covers one or two episodes scored by Richard Lewis Warren. "Matt Houston" https://youtube.com/watch?v=EpETFYRQkFM Suite #2 for Nelson Riddle. The final suite will be next week (see end of post about that). "Peyton Place" These two suites cover all four episodes Sukman scored. I just couldn't get the suite edited down enough for one video. Suite #1 ends with a wonderful cue that coincidentally was at the general point I needed to separate the suite at, and #2 opens -- also coincidentally -- with a beautiful shimmering cue. Beautiful how that worked out. Suite #1: https://youtube.com/watch?v=egxyp7evDgw Suite #2: https://youtube.com/watch?v=hX5C5l950us TV MOVIE:
This was a 1979 TV movie scored by Joe Renzetti. For those who love funky and/or disco music, this unreleased score should be right your alley. Hopefully some label makes this happen. I'd say this was about 40% of the score, but a number of cues were not heard in full in the TV movie. Enjoy! https://youtube.com/watch?v=LpTcUhBiv3A PLEASE NOTE: It's extremely unlikely I will be online Monday the 31st. Suites will follow on Tuesday that week.
