I see the self-styled "professor" has finished his dissertation. Take a deep breath and get control of yourself. What I can say ,whether you agree with me or not, in a few sentences takes you into long winded paragraphs. What you can say doesn’t even make sense as a sentence. Maybe you could have used a few more professors in your life. Maybe then I wouldn’t feel compelled to lecture you on a semi-regular basis. Because you can’t control yourself — every time a new release is announced, if it’s not a previously unreleased Golden Age title you go on another familiar rant against the labels for only caring about “bloodletting” scores or “schlock” or some such nonsense. It’s all so tired and predictable, and you don’t do yourself or your cause any favors. Which is unfortunate, because getting more Golden Age scores released is a very worthy cause indeed. Remember there was a label named Kritzerland who used to continue putting out a lot of Golden Age scores long after they had slowed to a trickle from most other labels? I seem to recall you getting on the bad side of the label owner Bruce Kimmel, because of your incessant nagging for things and sense of entitlement. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised, based on things he’s said, if you’re part of the reason he largely stopped those soundtrack releases and left for greener pastures in the land of Broadway, where apparently there are a lot fewer negative Nancys like you in the fan base. You want more Golden Age premieres but don’t want to risk your financial stability on it by starting a label? Well buy yourself a $60 microphone and start a podcast like I did with some friends in 2018. Let’s see if you have the guts, passion, and dedication to create something positive for the film music community — all dedicated to celebrating the era and the scores YOU love, rather than tearing down and insulting others and the music they like. You think kids these days have poor taste? Well maybe you need to become a professor yourself and introduce them to “the good stuff”. Maybe you could even revitalize the market for older film music of quality. Maybe you could cover all 16 original scores written by Erich Wolfgang Korngold and drum up enough support that a label like La-La Land or Intrada might decide to produce that box set of his Warmer Bros work that all true Golden Age fans long for. You want to try being productive instead of destructive, I’ll be happy to help you and cheer you on even. I’d eagerly tune into a Golden Age score podcast, if you decided to pour your energy into one. (But it sure is a whole lot easier to just lob insults at others actually doing something for film music, isn’t it? I suspect you’ll continue on as you are, but please do prove me wrong.) By the way here’s another lesson: I can’t be “self-styled” as “the professor” if it’s a nickname YOU keep trying to give me. You apparently seem to think it’s some clever insult on your part, as if you think little of those who study and attempt to be informed about things and perhaps share that knowledge with others. Professors for you are something to mock? Well I’m the grandson of a chemistry professor and a college English teacher, and if you want to keep calling me “professor” I’ll wear it as a badge of honor, thanks. Oh, and I’ll decide for myself when I’m finished with the dissertation, but I gotta say that I could do a lot worse than you as a muse. What can I say? With every grouchy “get off my lawn” performance, you inspire me! Yavar

From Varese you are sure to get another "recycled" title. Their last premiere title worth acquiring was ROOSTER COGBURN. How well did that sell?

Since when is it off limits to critize a record label ? Should they be above reproach ? It's your pompous attitude that I find totally silly. You need to be treated by a professional. Varese Sarabande will issue whatever they want to issue no matter what I say or write because this is America. Opinions that don't agree with yours are still worthy of being heard. But why repeat the same criticism over and over again? By now you know Varese's M.O. and you know that's not gonna change cause premiere releases just don't sell so well. Instead of acting like whiney child throwing tantrums just accept that your taste in scores is obsolete and try to focus more on positive things. Or just admit that your troll and that you like stir shit up. The choice is yours, pal...

Cody... a stalwart of Golden Age advocacy... insulted by a wretched, preposterous loudmouth who purports to be the mouthpiece of all things meaningful in film music???? We laugh! Get with the times, Grandpa! Nobody cares about Golden Age scores anymore. Cody is nothing more than an old man yelling at clouds.

Champions of the golden age are still here and they must not remain silent or be forced to remain silent. Whether we make a difference in the outcome or not, our voice must be heard. To those who support my right to be heard, I thank you. Isn't it great to live in a democracy ? " To fight for the right without question or pause..." If you really were a champion of Golden Age scores you'd put your money where your mouth is and start your own speciality label. But I guess that doesn't fit with the trollish online persona you have created for yourself
