Seriously, pray!" Real Steel (Original Motion Picture Score) - Danny Elfman Shawn Levy's sci-fi sports drama was released in theaters 10 years ago today. The movie is basically Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots meets Rocky. I remember the trailers for this being cringeworthy, but the movie , which I enjoyed, was better than the trailers made it out to be. I wasn't expecting much from Elfman's score because I figured the movie's soundtrack (particularly during the fight scenes) would be bombarded with hip hop/rock/techno music, which the movie had it's fair share of. However, Elfman's uplifting score was utilized well. Atom's theme, which centers on the main characters boxing robot that's a bit of an underdog, is a very catchy triumphant theme. There's also an emotional theme that depicts the bond between the father and son in the movie.
