SAE's USA shipping for this Masada set is $12.40, compared to Intrada's $5.75. Many, many businesses of all sizes are squeezed beyond their pre-pandemic operating margins. SAE probably is recouping their own delivery cost of the same Intrada discs which they then sell and ship to their own customers. My own order awaits Wednesday's disclosure of the next batch from Quartet, so I hope MASADA won't be out of stock yet.

I've ordered as well. Thank you, Intrada. But I must say that I find it amusing when labels show pictures of the 4 cds displayed like they were on a dessert tray at a restaurant. Do they think the buyer will be enticed by the photos of the 4 cds, or do they think that the buyer may not believe that there are actually 4 cds? I'm more enticed by the very reasonable price and the addition of the Varese album.

I sold my old Varese CD for considerably more money than the price of this new set!

One I don't need, at least for the time being.

Of damn, now I know what inspired The Stunt Man main theme! The Stunt Man came first. Just a nice synchronicity - it was a great time for soundtracks albums. Far more realistic to say that it is inspired by the long and wonderful tradition of Judaic traditional music. To Schiffy's plaint of little discussion, I have to say that I for one am not posting much any more about buying scores, especially cool reissues of already cool earlier issues. But here's a bit. I bought this instantly, and I hope that the improved audio for the Morton Stevens helps me enjoy that a bit more. I certainly enjoy his work, always loved seeing his name in TV credits, but it didn't grab me as much as I had hoped. The Goldsmith is one of my very favorite of his scores. And I really love the album - one of my best air-conducting workouts. I have to take the original editions off Apple Music so I'm not tempted to listen again before I get the new release. Which better be soon!

I was already convinced to buy this for the remastered MCA/Varèse album alone. After hearing the sample of "The Planting" from that album, my conviction is affirmed. Here's hoping the actual score discs are just as thrilling.
