I am absolutely convinced that sooner or later we will find out about Tadlow's current situation etc.

If the company has collapsed, you will for sure.

But a lot of Tadlow and Prometheus releases are now out of print even on sites like Music Box, Intrada etc.

Understood, but Michael, I could have sworn you'd said it was THRILLER you were waiting for.

The links I provided will help you get that title.

That said, whilst I can't check stock levels, I just checked and I found QUO VADIS up for sale at Screen Archives and Chris' Soundtrack Corner, and BEN-HUR also at CSC.

Cheers

BEN-HUR is available from Amazon.co.uk

Bumping this thread.

I'm assuming there is no new update or it would've been posted. Are there still pending orders from some of you?

I still have not heard anything from James about my order of December 5th. No replies to over 5 inquiries either. I do wish him well with his health issues and hope he or someone in the know would give us some kind of update.

I was able to secure my copies of Rozsa's S&G and The Thief of Bagdad, but I'm disappointed I wasn't able to purchase some of the Tadlow albums that were available on download, such as Paris is Burning and Villa Rides, as I foolishly thought they'd always be there.

Perhaps Nic Raine could advise how James is, or Luc van de Ven.

I really hope James is gonna be OK and I wish him the best.

His wonderful recordings deserve to stay available. I was hoping they would eventually be released as hi-res downloads. It would be sad if they just faded into limbo like this.

I have canceled my order a while ago (see above) and have no further update. I sincerely hope James is/will be alright. I have so many of his wonderful recordings.

Surely someone, somewhere knows how James is? It's scary to think something could befall him and nobody in film music circles be aware. Very worrying.

Those are my thoughts as well. Surely someone close to him or an acquaintance has details they can provide. Granted, his health issues are of a personal nature and don't bear discussing here. But there is the business side to speak of, with the website and pending orders. Those should be addressed in some manner, I hope.

Is Nic Raine not perhaps on social media?

Or someone from the CPPO? Surely they have a long-standing relationship with James after 30-odd years and can at least get a message to him to ask if he needs help.

He may have asked for privacy from those in the know.

Good point. Is the Tadlow site still allowing orders?

I just checked his Facebook messenger and he was online some 6 minutes ago.

Yes, you can still order at the site.

And there's the rub. James is active online; surely active enough for a quick update on the status of things. And his site is still open for orders - orders that are either pending for months on end or are now being canceled by customers for lack of response or fulfillment.

At this point, I think an update from him is due.

I fully agree. An update from him and from Tadlow is long overdue. And since none has come forward, it has me worried. I do not know what goes on behind the scenes, but I am sure it is not a case of mere negligence, unconcern, or malicious intent. Because the current state of affairs is contrary to all my previous experience with either Tadlow or James. Not sure what's going on, but something obviously isn't quite right. I hope for the best and wish everyone well.

Companies House still shows Tadlow Music as being in the process of being compulsory wound up.

The notification reads as follows:

FIRST GAZETTE NOTICE

05536229 TADLOW MUSIC LTD

Publication date in the Gazette: 06/06/2023

The Registrar of Companies gives notice that, unless cause is shown to the contrary, the Company will be struck off the register and dissolved not less than 2 months from the date shown.

Upon the Company's dissolution, all property and rights in, or held in trust for, the company are deemed to be bona vacantia, and will belong to the Crown.

Two months from 6th June is of course 6th August, when the Registrar may proceed with dissolving the company.

I'm afraid for James' wellbeing.

So does that mean all the recordings will belong to the UK government?

If they're owned by Tadlow Music Ltd at the point of dissolution, it looks like they'll become the property of the Crown, yes.

Where they already belong to another party, such as Prometheus, clearly not.
