I would love being able to go directly to the last post in a thread from the "overwiev" page instead of entering a thread and then jumping to the last post there.

Can't you do that already? Just go to the end of the line next to last posters name n press the little "View" button?

OMG, thanks !!

It would be nice to see other members past posts on their page, not just the topics visited

Would echo this - the 'view your posts' option would be hugely appreciated.

One of the main reasons I still come here is the look and style of the forum (and all the lovely people gathered here today).
It might be 'old style' but it's quaint and charming (and something we are all used to).
I've never warmed to the other forums out there cos of their like-for-like style/format.
Yes, the Search Engine needs to be better and the ability to add/embed stuff from other sites made easier (I used to be able to embed a video from YouTube in the recent past but that seems to have changed for me now).
But I wouldn't want any kind of major overhaul.
It's pretty much cool as it is.

I think the big gets would be more intuitive quote systems (automatically citing who is being quoted and when they had written it) and streamlined image posting.

I’ve somehow literally never seen a forum frequented by adults that doesn’t allow swearing, so I’m a bit surprised by that suggestion! Like somebody above mentioned, this forum is absolutely chaste compared to most Internet forums and even other film score forums.

As I'm deep into redesigning my own website, I know this can become a work of pain.

I think the board is okay in terms of how is structured, but it needs a real overhaul in terms of design and interface.

- Please make it more user-friendly in a way that works well on both desktop and mobile devices. This actual interface is a true pain to look at on the phone and also on tablet. Make sure anything is done with a responsive interface that adapts itself to the device you're using.

- In the composing message section, add buttons and commands for adding links, videos, images, etc. Not everyone is nerdy and comfy to use html coding with slash, arrows and other specific characters.

- A better search engine that uses more specific boolean operators to help refining what you're looking for. It's essential when you have a 20+ year archive of messages.

- Don't listen to anyone saying to not change anything smile I can understand the sense of reassurance and even nostalgia of finding something that looks the same every day any time, but the internet is a place of evolution and a tremendous resource like this board needs to stay up to date.

I’m not in favor of sticky threads. On other sites half of the viewable area are pinned topics and you have to scroll way down to see the first new post.

No, that just goes to the last post in the thread, not the first unread one.

But Grimsdyke didn't ask for first unread one, did he! Just the last post.
Shame we ain't got a smug smart-ass twat button.

Slightly more serious. What about a humour button. When you write something you think is funny you get marks or something. People press the funny button, even if it's anonymous.

"Funny how?"

If I thought your comment was funny ( I said if) I would click something and it would be noted. I don't need it myself coz I know my stuff is funny but most are not as fortunate.

Easy way to link and post pictures and YouTube content.

An effective search engine with filters

Formating option for text.

No emojis please..too distracting.

Enough letter Digit space for Subject thread section
I can barely cram stuff for cd announcements.

Double Post....

Double Post ...errors...ugh!

Delete your own thread option along with Edit rights for your own posts.

I agree with HG. I love the board and am grateful to Lukas for sustaining it. A working search engine would be nice, but otherwise it is fine. Let's not overwhelm Lukas.

Like, Love, Thanks, Sad, Angry reaction buttons

Drag and drop image uploading

Automatic YouTube code embedding

Easy url link embedding

Search topics feature

Private Messaging

Easy quoting and multiple post quoting

Thank you for all you do, Lukas. If you want a model for functionality reference , One of the best message board designs I’ve ever seen is the JWFan one. It just works very intuitively.

You can't delete a thread but you can already edit your posts or delete your comments in perp.

1. Most forums nowadays remember the last post at the time you opened the page, so that you can click an icon next to the thread and it takes you to your next unread post (i.e. the position you were at the last time you opened the thread). Implementing that would be my No. 1 choice.

2. Making a mobile display theme would also be useful. The text can be too small on a tablet or phone as it's still trying to display a PC website, rather than something tailored for smaller screens. And related to this, the font size on the PC website is also quite small and could do with some options to make it bigger.

3. Changing the way quoting posts is displayed would be nice. Put the quoted post in a box, or at least something better than just making the quoted text italics, which doesn't stand out very well from the new post's text. And maybe add name of the quoted poster and date/time of their post.
