Don't argue/Desperate Journey--Friedhofer This comes at the end of Between Heaven and Hell when Robert Wagner runs down the mountain in order to save himself and Buddy Eden. Friedhofer uses the Dies Irae theme and it is gripping.

I listened to these this morning, made a playlist in fact. Lovely assortment of very high calibre works
I've never understood the problem answering this question ...
... for me, for 50+ years, it's been the same cue, the same piece of music, the best music ... ever (and for some years I've been more of a classical than film score listener.)
Thunderball OST tr. B1 (of original vinyl LP) ... Thunderball

Near 4 minutes of pure bliss.
Unbeatable!
Is there an equivalent cue on the expanded CD. ------- Track 7
Difficult, yes, but the one track I find myself enjoying today (and returning to) just as much as when I bought the CD 33 years ago, is Jerry Goldsmith's
"Homecoming" from "The Best Years of Our Lives" - Hugo Friedhofer. Perhaps the best score of all time.
PS I mean the cue when Frederick March rings the bell on his apartment and he hasn't told his family that he's home from WWII yet. His kids answer the door and are overwhelmed, and he goes in and surprises his wife, Myrna Loy. The music is sublime. Always brings tears to my eyes.
I don't have a recording or cue sheet handy etc., and "Homecoming" may be for a different sequence. Sorry for being imprecise!
You can't go wrong with either Homer's or Al's homecoming. The latter has an interesting interpolation of "Among My Souvenirs" too. Both remarkable cues in a score that's full of 'em. Including Hoagy/Butch playing his own "Up the Lazy River" that "underscores" a terrific conversation with his nephew at the pub.
