Hah, that’s great! One would think Varese would change their order pages still saying “pre-order” at this point — but they both even still say “ships the week of September 27th”!
Do we know anything about the alternate Main Title.
Just speculating based on the sample of the Main Title at the Varese site - I think the alternate may be what we had in the suite, as the sample at Varese Site of the "movie version" Main Title is different to the one that started he suite.

Makes sense. Thanks. Still, I'd like to know more about the so-called alternate.
For those interested, here is an excellent video essay on the making of the film THE OTHER. You may want to watch THE OTHER itself first if you haven't seen it, as there are spoilers in this brilliant documentary. Bravo to director Adam Zanzie. And shout outs to our very own FSM friends Lukas Kendall, Jeff Bond and Henry Stanny who contributed their expertise to this production. It surely is one of the best "Making of" films I have ever seen. Enjoy!

Ok, having listened to the streaming it confirmed my assumption, the alternate Main Title is the same that started the previoulsy released suite, the original Main Title, starting with the whistleling was previously unreleased.
Chris Malone's restoration work on this score is astounding. There was apparently a great deal of damage to repair on the original sources, which is part of why that weird old suite was the way it was. It took a great deal of painstaking repair to save the score for this album release, and it really shows in the final result. The score is a total joy to listen to now, much better than the old suite and even better than the old Twilight Time iso track.

Much appreciated - what a fantastic video essay, makes me want to see that film even more!
Mine just arrived as well, via Amazon distribution in the UK. Looking forward to giving it a spin (I played the Isolated Score rip CDR just this week, so I've been whistling - quite apt - that damned tune all week around the house).
My CD is on its way, but since this showed up on Apple Music yesterday, I had a listen. Good stuff! This is a score that, on that old Varese CD with The Mephisto Waltz, had just never really made an impression on me. (I realize they could only work with what they had.) So even though I'd heard a lot of it multiple times, somehow it felt new to me in this presentation. It's never likely to be a top forty Goldsmith for me, but I really enjoyed the journey it took me on. So glad for this surprise release!
