Once Upon A Time In America (40th Anniversary Expanded Edition) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this year. Not going to happen unfortunately as long as Warner Bros. doesn't start working with the speciality labels again.

Well, the good news is that LLLR could spend the rest of their lives releasing wonderful TV series scores, wonderful TV movie scores, wonderful TV mini series scores, and wonderful films scores and never even get to the year 2000, let alone 2005. Reading between the lines, the soundtrack business is dwindling. The big titles make them money, but star composers don't necessarily guarantee big returns anymore, especially their lesser titles. So they may never release a lot of stuff, especially smaller scores. Will these businesses be around by 2030 in their current form? The next generation are not soundtrack enthusiasts, well, not enough of them. Clearly making harder business decisions nowadays. The labels stopped releasing comedy scores for the most part. We won't see anymore Orville or Sonic on disc either. The good news we can look forward to re-releases of scores some might have missed out on. Last year we got the 1701 series. That was a total surprise.

I know it's not likely, but what IS the possibility of a Blade Runner expanded release any time soon? That would be AWESOME!! I'd buy it in a second!! Would LLLR do it? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE??!!! P.S.- Looking forward to the 3 new titles and want to pick up JP3. Missed it on the first go around.

NO. It’s Warner. No Warner title will be released because of WB's policy - the labels have written about it a million times here on the forum.

P.S.- Looking forward to the 3 new titles and want to pick up JP3. Missed it on the first go around. It's Warners, so no for now. I have heard some Blade Runner unreleased music when I was at Warner for a very brief time a long time ago. There is a TON of unreleased material there. If you added in all the alternates, easy three or four disc set, I think. I remember a thread was created in 2019 (I can't find it now) by a guy who made and assembled a Blade Runner 4CD set. I listened to that set. In some tracks, you could barely hear the dialogue and noises from the film. Overall, the quality is pretty decent. He also managed to dig up unused and alternative music... As you correctly put it - there really is a TON of material there. It's a shame that all of this can't be officially released yet due to the greed and/or indifference of corporate bosses. 4 discs? How much music can there be in a 90 minute film?

Isn't Vangelis another composer who doesn't want to cooperate with the specialty labels? He died of Covid19 some years ago so he cannot be asked anylonger

Isn't Vangelis another composer who doesn't want to cooperate with the specialty labels? Whether you meant it this way or not, I think it's unfair to frame this as [the late] Vangelis being "uncooperative." It seems he just felt that his music should play as an album, and not (as so many of us want) as a slavish recreation of the film version. Unlike so many here, I'm not a huge fan of Blade Runner, but I do respect Vangelis's feelings on the matter. Regardless, every label producer here is well aware that it would be a good seller. So as polite as the "PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE??!!!" is, it's not about that. They would if they could, I have no doubt.
