I'm just about speechless! It's fun to hear about new releases as they're in the works, but I love these "out of the blue" announcements when it's something I've wanted for so long time!

THANK YOU INTRADA!!! big grin

While this is a limited edition release, we don't want anyone to miss out on this important album. For that reason, we have agreement that we can exceed the usual 3000 limit and do not need to indicate a specific amount on the packaging -- so there are more than enough to go around.

So if I read that right, this is technically an "unlimited" edition that will be available for as long as possible? Because I may (sadly) have to wait on this for a bit, being that it comes during a particularly tight time for me moneywise.

I feel your pain...no one pays their lawyers in December....

What's even better is that Intrada includes the early score before the production started over with Fox.

Let's clarify that before anyone gets confused. Shooting with Michael J. Fox was well under way by the time Silvestri started working on the film. He did not score anything of the earlier shoot. The press blurb was simply stating that changes were made to the music, not that it had anything to do with the casting change, which was months earlier.

Mike

THAT not WHAT THE PRESS blurb said

It says: "Many film fans know movie underwent changes in lead actor & serious tone of initial production. Find out now how Silvestri made changes as well!" It might seem to imply that one thing has to do with the other, but the sentence does not actually say that. This is why I chimed in with an explanation. The earlier shoot footage was never even edited. The casting change was based on viewing dailies. Silvestri only saw and scored the film with Michael J. Fox in it.

It should be mentioned there has always been a few handful of scores that neither needed or delivered any such hype. Whether it is ALIEN, STAR TREK II, BACK TO THE FUTURE or THE WIND AND THE LION you simply open the doors and let the crowds in. But never a more dramatic example of so many scores that need the extra hype than the other Intrada release, IN SEARCH OF PEACE by Lee Holdridge. Compare the 1300 views and 50 responses to BACK TO THE FUTURE to 130 and 1 response to the Holdride CD. Which is why I implore those here, after you get over the euphoria, to go listen to those incredible PEACE samples.

Henry, I'll set your mind at ease to some extent, I'm not interested in The Back to the Future but am very interested in the Holdridge even though I don't have any of his scores as compared to many by Silvestri. I'm ordering the Holdridge based on what I heard in the clips so I'm getting it on the merit of those alone. I only can afford 2 CDs a month right now on my limited unemployment budget and the Holdridge will be one of the two.

Which makes sense since BACK TO THE FUTURE is more or less unlimited but IN SEARCH OF PEACE only has 1000 pressed. Now not all Holdridge scores have sold out but the samples on this one is particularly powerful so my guess this will join the majority that have.

Gee whiz, don't thank me all at once. This title probably wasn't even on Intrada's radar until I asked about it at the FSM gathering back in May. What does a guy have to do to get a little credit around here?

big grin

It's quite easy just send me an email filmscoremonthly@gmail.com with your addy and I'll send the second to last copy I have out to you!

I had copies of this I was giving away for free, had you not seen any of this footage online or anywhere?

After watching that short clip, the filming reminds me of how they shoot The Office, actually the way I shot that whole section reminds me of that show, COOL!!! I just impressed myself.

After a long day at a client, I completely forgot about the Intrada releases, so this is an excellent, amazing surprise to come home to! And with the unheard alternates, it's like having a new BACK TO THE FUTURE 1.5 score to enjoy!
