FNL should not be there. That's a mistake.

Here are 2 quotes from MV:

"I already know that this year our planned major MAJOR release dates are 3/23, 4/20, 5/4, 7/20 and 11/30. And we are going to try to stick to those dates as best as we can. But in the interim we will have several other great releases coming out as well."

"MV : a lot of of great scores will be released this year, from Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Kamen, Danny Elfman, Les Baxter and John Williams and other marvelous composers."

I also believe MV mention 5 comic-book soundtrack releases. #1 would be the Flash, and #2 should be Wonder Woman. But the other 3?? No idea yet.

3/23 was Eraser and Dragonslayer (both of those were MAJOR). I think from what he said earlier that 5/4 is ID4. and for the X-Files summer release date, that is probably 7/20.
I cannot wait to see (or hear, I guess) the new Goldsmith he mentioned!

UPDATE:
OK, 5/4 is no longer a major release date. We know what the John Williams is now (Yeah!), and X-Files has been pushed back to late Fall or Winter.

Comic Book Releases:
#1 The Flash
#2 Wonder Woman
#3 Batman: The Movie
#4 ?
#5 ???

I hope Basil Poledouris is on their list as well wink

I really really really want the Kamen release to be Highlander. It's one of my few remaining grails. If not that, then Robin Hood would be most welcome. I wonder if the release of Ridley Scott's new Robin Hood movie this summer might be motivation for releasing the Costner version's score. Hmmm...

And while I'm happy to get Poseidon Adventure, it disappoints me a little that this rules out the chances of getting Hook.

Someone said that MV's new avatar could be Elfman's The Frighteners.

Thoughts?

My poor wallet and my lucky ears.

The New Baxter and Elfman sound intriguing...

If there's another comic book release due, and another Kamen score on the way, is an expanded "X-Men" a possibility?

Here are my guesses:

July 20th: Batman (Complete) by Danny Elfman

November 30th: Hook (Complete) by John Williams
November 30th: Die Hard Trilogy (box set) by Michael Kamen

Somewhere in between there is an Alan Silvestri release and a Les Baxter release. I don't know anything about Les Baxter, but I'd guess the Alan Silvestri is either Fandango or Mission Impossible (Rejected)

To quote a movie whose score was just released by FSM: "May all your guesses be right." smile

Since Fox seem to be working closely with LLL and with Debney's Predators being done by MV and Co, I wonder if the rumoured Silvestri title is a re-issue of Predator, an expansion of Predator 2 or both. If it is either of these, I will definitely be picking it (them?) up.

Me too!

I wasn't aware of Varese's Predator club release until after it was already sold out, and an expanded version of Predator 2 would be most welcome.

I just downloaded Predator 2 from iTunes and with my luck, an expansion should be announced any day now. smile

But I'm wondering about Varese and whether or not they own Predator 2 and Die Hard 2 in perp. On the other hand, I'm sure Fox can make some kind of deal if they wanted to.

Here is Les Baxter credits on IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005958/

Crossing fingers for Elfman's Batman but I think that might be a tough one?

As for Silvestri, whew there are alot of scores that need to be released and/or expanded.

Hope no one minds my list wink

Predator 2 (Heck if Varese doesn't want it then I'm sure LLL will take it please)
JUDGE DREDD
HOLY MAN? (how did that get in there ;0)
THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT
YOUNG GUNS II
BLOWN AWAY
FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR
SUPER MARIO BROTHERS
WHO FRAMMED ROGER RABBIT (expanded/complete but Disney owns the righs?)

Great guesses and hope.

Fandango is not likely to happen any time soon as Roger over at Intrada who's a major fan of the score was told that that Amblin won't license it. I really do hope that it gets a release too.

As for Predator 2, Varese still has the rights to it since it's still in print.

I'd love to see a Die Hard box, but doesn't Varese hold the rights to Die Hard 2 still?

Is the Mel Brooks box still in the works? I know it was mentioned last year along with John Morris' score to The In-Laws and Miles Goodman's Dunston Checks In.

Varese's Robocop OST and Expanded is still in print, and that didn't stop Intrada from releasing the complete version

That's because they didn't own the rights in perpetuity for the first film (just the second and third).

I wonder if La-La Land could release expanded editions of Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection. Alien 3 was an MCA album but Resurrection was RCA Victor (now Sony...?).

Just thinking out loud. smile They're not high on the priority list for me but I'd still pick them up in a heartbeat.

I agree regarding Alien 3 ScottDS. There are A LOT of MCA soundtracks that need to be expanded. I am not going to list them here. It will be too long wink
