Forget trying to find out how much it would cost ordering it from Amazon.uk - just order it from Screen Archives for $16.95 :-)

Thanks for the heads-up, Cranston. This (along with re-watching the first season) should help keep me occupied while I wait another four months for the new episodes to air here in the US.

Yeah, 4 months wasn't going to work for me - so I just ordered the season 2 blu-ray from Amazon.uk. It's REGION FREE and comes out Jan 23rd. I think with shipping it came to something like $27.

Silva Screen has posted an interview with David Arnold & Michael Price about working on the series:

spoiler alert track 7!

Yup! That was really cool in the show.

Also, I'm glad the season ('series' in the UK) 2 soundtrack was made available so early after this season, as opposed to season 1 getting a soundtrack release after the second season has already aired!

Be interested to hear from anyone who has both these CDs - I would imagine series 2 would be a better listen, but I could be wrong?

That's bullshit. Makes no sense unless you have seen the episode.

Unless, of course, you get the CD and THEN watch the episode, where the capital letters can give it away as you watch the episode. While it won't make since until you actually get to a certain point, once you're there, you could realize what it means.

I wouldn't consider that a spoiler - at least not the likes of Star Wars' "Qui-Gon's Noble End" or the two cues from the Torchwood soundtrack that spoil the deaths of two major characters.

Another potential spoiler (but this one requires simple observation and deduction -- and, no, I have not yet seen this episode):

Anyone who is familiar with the Sherlock Holmes books and the ending of Conan Doyle's "The Final Problem" should be able to "deduce" what is "heartbreaking" (as David Arnold put it in the interview) about the third episode of the second series "The Reichenbach Fall."

Elementary.

Neither CD has yet been released. Release dates are January 30 and February 27, respectively.

I'm keen to hear what the verdict is on these two scores. So keen, George, I want to know before they come out!! ha ha

In the worlds of Lee Van Cleef - the beer's warm but the month will go fast!

Excellent series, with great music. Presumably with two releases so close to each other, Silva are hoping for similar success with these releases to their Doctor Who range, given the same the creators are basically the Who team.

My predictions are they won't come close to the sales of Who, but will probably still have a higher demand to the usual stuff, for various reasons. Among them interest from Holmes fans, the Who connection and of course Arnold fans.

Good luck Silva!

So Amazon.com finally has this listed, but shows it won't be released until sometime in March. I know SAE is selling it, but are they held to the March release as well or already shipping their copies (if they're just imported from the UK, since it's already been released there)?

What's odd is that you can get Season 2 (at a high import price) BEFORE you can get Season 1.

I am wondering if that will change.

James
