A thank you for being patient gift/disc with music by Danny Elfman, that also happens to be Autographed. What's the problem? They didn't have to do this.

Of course not. But they could just have easily just sent out an autograph without having to go through a licensing and pressing process, and I imagine had they done THAT we may have even seen less complaints about it when it was announced. It makes absolutely zero sense to have such redundancy.

(On the other hand, it also means that those who bought the box elsewhere can rest easy that they aren't missing anything but a coaster)

I'll admit I was hoping there'd be something on here that wasn't on the set (just for the sake of getting as much of Danny's music out there as possible), but I'm totally jazzed to hear what the remastering sounds like!

The bonus disc is like the perfect 1-disc Elfman/Burton compilation. A great way to introduce Danny to your friends!

What's really great about this disc is that when you listen to his scores from PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE to ALICE you can really chart his growth as a composer.

Personaly, I'm a little disapointed.
I thought there was going to be something more "unusual" on that disc.
Still, it's a nice way to make people wait and get a glimpse of what the box is really about.

If nothing else, this track listing should make those who didn't get the bonus CD feel a little better. Other than Elfman's autograph, they're actually not missing much of anything.

Yeah, any feeling I had of being run under the bus is gone on this release. Wonder why they had to "clear" the music that is already going to be on the box?

How does Sleepy Hollow sound? I'm really excited for that one, hoping the sound quality will be a revelation.

RE: the pic of Danny signing

Poor guy - he looks like he fell asleep, pen in hand. I'm sure a few of you will get a CD with the sig morphing into a straight line and running right off the edge of the cover. razz On a serious note, I'm impressed with Mr. Elfman's dedication to his fans by taking the time out to do this. What a nice fellow!

Just comparing the big brass crescendo when Elfman's name appears on screen (1:59-), there is a definite improvement in the mix/master. I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but the sound is meatier and less brittle. Still, this is the album version — the film version is very different (solo vocal vs. choir, etc.)

Got mine today. The music box suite is the same one playing on the website. Pee-wee is great, everything else sounds pretty much the same. As stated its a great sampler of Elfman's greatest hits, kinda like a Burton/Elfman Music for a Darkened Theater. Great gesture to send it out, but I'm not sure whether I'll hang onto it. Anyone out there who didn't get one desperate to buy it?...

Do you really want to get rid of a disc signed by Danny Elfman which is bound to a limited edition? It doesn't seem a very wise intention. As soon as I receive mine I will put it in a glass case, even though I already have almost all of the track list.

I am so going to frame that cd together with the picture of Elfman signing it.,

A big thanks to mr. Kraft for arranging this!

As far as the tracklisting goes. I think a compilation of his best music fits a special cd like this a lot better than some unreleased demos or other tracks.

Some people aren't really into collecting trophies. I can certainly understand the lack of enthusiasm for this disc if the music is all duplicated in the boxset. Some people see it as a needless redundancy. Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm not sure at this point if it's something I'm going to want to keep (autographs have little meaning to me unless I've met the person signing and physically been at the scene while that person signed something for me).
