Just to add some more info to this release:

Disc 1 consists of Barry score for the film. Its an absolute treasure! As stated before, it's like the lost BOND score. After we all heard it we asked ourselves, "What movie was he watching?" LOL!

He *might* have been watching the original movie. The one that existed before they cut 40 minutes after the poor previews!

....Holy shit.

Just holy shit, MV.

What a surprise to wake up to. More John Barry, and Michel Colombier finally gets his due on the limited edition labels (I think). It was exciting enough just to see -that- announcement.

Scrolling down to your next post, however - I think my reaction can be summed up in animated gifs.

ROCK ON LA-LA LAND!

THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!

These four titles were going to be:

Batman Forever Expanded Archival Collection
Forever Young Expanded Archival Collection
Space Above and Beyond (3 cd set)
1941 (2 cd set)

Couldn't you have done ONE title I wouldn't be interested in? Joking aside, that's one amazing lineup! And at least we can all start saving up...

^LeHah... ha!!

We have many more projects in the works with Mr. Kendall.

Oh, I'll bet you do. smile

Had this been the lineup, I would've been 4 for 4! (I was 2 for 3 last year and 3 for 4 last Christmas.) You keep making 'em, I'll keep buying 'em.

OK, so you were contractually bound to produce 5000 of a GOLDEN CHILD 3-CD set.

But how many do you think you'll actually sell? Just wondering. Can't believe you'll come anwhere near that number.

(Good luck of course, LLL is a fantastic label, the floodgates are opening more and more, so go for it!)

Yes, you're right. John Barry is a composer who has sold tens of thousands of CDs and he has generations of fans. So if someone puts out an entire score that those people haven't heard before...

Sadly, Mr. Barry did not get to see the end result of Jim Titus' gorgeous package (insert joke here) and Mr Burlingame superlative notes. I'm sure if he were still around he would have been very happy to see one of his lost masterpieces see the light of day.

Neither did Colombier, unfortunately (who passed away prematurely in 2004).

is there much more unrelased music in FOREVER YOUNG? I remember a perfect album release as it is but...

Wow, La-La Land, that is one impressive list of titles. Shame they have been delayed but it's great to know they are coming and I look forward to getting them whenever that is.

In the meantime I look forward to The Golden Child. This is the first I've heard of it but it sounds like it's too good to miss.

Seriously: Space Above and Beyond & 1941. Wowzers.

Edit. It's fantastic that you're back working with Watertower Music. I know you can't say, but could this mean a second volume of Batman TAS ?

1941 (2 cd set)

drool...

That said, we might have one more title come in just in time for Comic Con -- that will be making its debut at the show and then on the website Aug 2. It was produced by Ford A Thaxton and Lukas Kendall and should, hopefully be here shortly.

It's probably not, but I wonder if it's another Horner?

According to Columbier in an interview with F.S.M., his score for "The Golden Child" got a better audience response than Barry's.

(

Intrada's 3000 release of John Barry's The Deep' sold out in a month last September for a score that had had a previous LP release. Throw in fans of Columbier's score and I suspect this will sell out though it may take a year or two

Can anyone answer my question from beginning?
Delivery through LLL site will cost 8$ for all set, or 8$ for 1 CD + 4$ for 2nd and 3rd (as SAE do)?

MV

Well, I think we all know how we can count on you doing exactly what you say you're going to do - so if you say August 2 but someone else is releasing something on a light week prior to that, you'll just move it on up because that's what you've done now on about, I don't know, eight different occasions, maybe more, including today. Why not just announce this when you said you were going to - mid-July? Why move it up so that people who actually had some breathing room this week no longer do - forcing them to make choices. You do great stuff - you have amazing things in the pipeline - but this just feels like bad form, one-upsmanship and a few other words I could say. There's no reason for it and as I've been saying for over a year now, it's all going to come back to bite everyone in the rear end. It already has, as you well know - nothing is selling out quickly these days. Drango would have sold out in a day a year ago but thanks to the constant jockeying, one-upsmanship and game-playing those days are done. You came on this board and you said clearly you were not releasing anything this week - CLEARLY. On vacation. Period. The End. In the land I live in those words have meanings. It's a lovely land where people do what they say.

Other than that, this is a stellar release.

Oh, I think Michel got his due on a limited edition label several years ago, don't you?
