Great titles all BUT....I have to say it. DO ALL THESE LABELS think we have hundreds of dollars laying around each month? All this lump sum stuff is such a short time frame is killing me (and I'm sure others too). Just look at what has been released since the beginning of the year. Plus some of this stuff is getting pricey. I mean there is a global recession after all and just the cost of living is way too high to begin with. I love whats going on with all these releases....but too much, too soon. We need a breather or at least a month off to catch our breath and replenish our bank accounts. (This doesn't apply to all you richey riches who have groves of money trees in your backyards). Plus this also hinders ones ability to buy any past titles one may have in your wish list.

Let's give MV some slack. He wanted to maintain the integrity of the first edition, so he left off 2 tracks (1 alternate and an interview track). That is NOT a lazy choice, but a deliberate one. Well, according to a recent post in one of the threads Chinatown was reissued the way it was because Townson thought that the original album program was the perfect presentation of the score (this was his answer to someone who asked why it was released this way at a recent film music event). A deliberate choice. But, it's Robert Townson and Varese, so it's laziness. Face it, if it was anyone else, there would have been a lot less complaints ("Oh that's ok, Doug. I trust your judgement and it was your decision to make. Don't worry about all these malcontents, they complain about everything.") The real sad thing though is that it's not just the film music consumers that whine and complain and verbally trash labels when they don't get exactly the type of release they wanted on the ol' FSM board anymore - soundtrack producers are doing it, too.

Anyway, getting back on track, I ask anyone and everyone interested in the DS9 set to buy it. I didn't watch and won't be buying the set. However, if this one's a success, I can only hope, hope, HOPE that we'll get a Voyager release. And I hope, hope, HOPE that one will have "Scorpion" on it. And some of Bell's earlier work for the show. I'm with you my friend. Although I didn't watch Voyager and probably wouldn't buy that set if it was released (although goddamn, it is Star Trek after all!), I'll proudly purchase the upcoming DS9 set if nothing else than to give further ST scores/sets a chance for release (e.g. Voyager). STS9 was the last ST series I actually watched on TV, and I *loved* it. Even if it was the last ST musical work to be released, my finger would be on the "add to cart" button posthaste!

Well, I still vote Enterprise before Voyager; and I saw someone else up there say the same. I can take or leave Voyager, personally... though of course if a set had more Captain Proton music on it, I'd be all over that. Maybe there's more fun music from the series I'm forgetting, but the show itself was just so forgettable most of the time it's all just a haze. Whenver DS9 comes out, I'll definitely be ordering on day 1.

Interesting - Feat Of Clay part 1 but not part2 (with the beautiful climactic music in the TV control room). Sounds like there's gonna be a volume 3 down the line... Its both parts but damn facebook won't let me edit the original post without deleting everything first. MV
