I like Robin Hood. But The Rescuers is probably my Disney Grail (since The Black Hole, Island at the Top of the World, and 20K are already out.)

Mine too!

Davy Crockett's 60th Anniversary was a couple of years ago, so I suppose they're not bothering with it.

Thrilled for Robin Hood, but hopefully we will see more soundtracks to other classic Disney animated features that also have never had CD releases. I'd also love The Rescuers, The Sword in the Stone, Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros.

I was looking at the track list for Cinderella and didn't realize there's bonus score cues on disc two. It appears disc one has the album recording while disc two has film recordings? Is this correct? Are there actually any *new* score on the Legacy Collection, not on the 90's expansion?

I believe the score cues on Disc 2 are a re-recording and Disc 1 has the music as heard in the film, though I'm not entirely sure it's complete.

Thanks, I gotta look into this some more. I need to pull out my 90's CD and compare track titles!

Edit: The 90's expansion and disc one of the Legacy Collection have the exact same track lengths. So nothing new there...

Well, we all have our Disney Grails, mine is Bedknobs and Broomsticks; for me The Sherman Brothers and Irwin Kostal at their finest. Only the songs remain released. But alas, four years to the 50th anniversary.

Hell yes! I need the cue for when the Museum army comes to life at the end!

Though an even bigger grail for me is Darby O'Gill.

I finally ordered a copy of the Legacy Edition of Cinderella and playing it currently. I've ripped it uncompressed to iTunes. I've had the original Cinderella 1997 CD release since it came out.

I am noticing that the masters are indeed different audio wise.

For instance the 97 release the audio is roughly 319-374 kbps and the Legacy edition is in the 500's and above for some of the newly recorded material. I can't speak for the CD releases in between the 97 and Legacy.

I did many comparisons listening to both editions on my headphones and the 97 has a lot more imperfections hiss pops, and distortion present. The new Legacy in comparison for the current amazon asking price was worth every penny. Hope this helps those who were interested in purchasing the disc.

Disc 2 Tracks 15-23 are from the 1995 WD Records Cinderella Re-Recording CD release music conducted by J.A.C. Redford

@ JackBlu78 - Thxs for the analysis! Think I'll pick up the Cinderella Legacy Collection based on your comments. I love the score but didn't think it merited a repurchase until now. I love the re-recording too and still have the original release. (With Linda Ronstadt's cover song.)

Cinderella Legacy Collection

Yeah I don't regret the purchase. Still listening to it now.

I also liked the 95 Album with the cover songs and score... but it took me a while to warm up to it because when I heard it was coming out back then it was just noted as the soundtrack and when the release came near and it wasn't the ORIGINAL score and songs I was not happy.

I did enjoy the Cinderella Score Medley (On the 95 Album Not on Legacy) Performed by David Benoit and David Sanborn. Loved that track.

one more audio note. I believe the audio is good I can't speak for the dynamic range on it, but it doesn't seem to be poorly compressed or brick walled (loudness) others may have thoughts on this.

Funny me too! I actually requested the OST as a Xmas gift that year. I was so pissed that they got me the wrong version.

I honestly don't remember much of BatB's score beyond what's already on the album (though I'm not a big fan of the film to begin with).
There are a few missing cues from Aladdin that I'd like (the drowning scene), but the original album is more annoying for being really out-of-order than for any music missing.
Hunchback, I always liked the music that's right before the "Topsy Turvy" number begins, and it's oddly excluded from the album. That's about all I remember there.

I don't think a lot is missing from B&TB, but it's one of my all time favorite scores. I would like the opening without narration. (Which I believe is on one of the compilations) I think the wolf attack music is missing. Also some OST cues are cut down from the film versions.

I remember a lot of good music from Aladdin not on the OST. Hunchback I have no idea. The OST is pretty extensive as is. The Jungle Book is missing bits of music here and there. (Even though the 90's release claims to be complete)

Of course Rescuers never received a score release like Robin Hood.

Edit: With the continuation of this series it's still odd they gave Rescuers Down Under to Intrada. I wonder if they will eventually release it under the Legacy Collection with Intrada's masters just new artwork?

I listened to the Legacy set of The Aristocats last nite and that release is great. Most of these Legacy editions were released during the timeframe when I was not collecting film scores so I passed at the time. Really glad to be able to buy many of these titles now.

The George Bruns score for The Aristocats is so good, so is the audio. Makes me was The Sword and the Stone so much more.
