After 'Endless Night' , I would like/love to see Friedhofer's 'The Harder They Fall'. A great score!

It's been an endless wait for Endless Night. Two years since their last new recording. I hope there will be more in the future, perhaps annually. VERA CRUZ by Hugo Friedhofer please. Vera Cruz? Only believe it when you see it!

In other Herrmann recording news, I saw conductor William Stromberg post on the Herrmann messageboard that he's working hard to bring an On Dangerous Ground re-recording to fruition that would also include the music from The Man Who Knew Too Much (not including the cantata, which was not written by Herrmann). He added that he also hopes to do a re-recording of Cape Fear. How exciting! Did he say if this be with Intrada or would be for another label, since Man Who Knew Too Much was in the top three for their poll for the next Kickstarter recording? Also interested in On Dangerous Ground as I missed out on the FSM, plus a re-recording of Cape Fear would be good if a legal release of the original recording turns out to be impossible.

I wish that someone could confirm Tarastew65's report of seeing November as a target date for ENDLESS NIGHT. I see nothing on Quartet's website, myself. Quartet has a space on bernardherrmann.org ... this is where I saw it. Up until last month, it merely said 2020 with no month assigned but this site has generally been quite accurate about release dates. Quartet's absolute silence is quite strange, though. http://www.bernardherrmann.org/org/quartet-records/. Needless to say, that is NOT the Quartet website. The Herrmann site lists retail items under company names - Quartet isn't renting space there. I saw the date there as well, but there's no way to know if it's definitive. Well, as I said, it had merely said 2020 for months and only recently was assigned the November release date window. Why would it change if they didn't know anything, especially with a teaser like "watch this space." That's uncustomary for that site. You want to be negative about it, go for it, champ.

Dude, you posted in September that the release date was on the Quartet website, and EVERYONE asked why they couldn't find it there. It's because you really meant the Herrmann site, not Quartet. That's all I was emphasizing. This isn't about me so don't start something. Bottom line, let's hope November is accurate, even if Quartet doesn't want to confirm or deny it.

If I was Quartet Records, I'd do two things: 1. Not announce the date of ENDLESS NIGHT until it's certain, because once you post an uncertain date and miss it, the dogs get let loose! 2. Keep my future plans secret until they're ready. Once we film score fans know something's coming, we become naturally anxious to get it. There's nothing wrong with that, it's natural, but I think we can understand why most labels operate that way. Cheers
