I’m with Thor and Marshall. It a sounds to me like you all are actually the old folks screaming in the corner. A score is only good if analog instruments are used? Giacchino could use the largest orchestra ever and would still get nothing out of it. Giacchino would still produce the orchestral equivalent to the worst RC score.

Hey, I like MG!

THERE is a word for.people who continue to claim Zimmer doesn't " write for orchestra..."

Id..id...idi...

Zimmer did some great stuff early on in his career and occasionally nowadays. Giacchino showed a lot of promise with Star Trek (My favorite score of his) and I really like Tomorrowland, Doctor Strange and Spidey Homecoming. While he's hasn't shown himself to be the next John Williams he's far from a hack. In fact I can't think of a more inappropriate word to describe his work. All that said I'll be interested to hear what he does with Batman. I hope for a great new motif if nothing else!

Meh I have nothing to add except that he's going to be Michael Cappuccino to me from now on.

Giacchino is to Olive Garden as Zimmer is to Hard Rock Cafe.

This is perfect.

He, he....no, not necessarily. I have no particular expectations for this Batman film. I'm generelly indifferent to superhero films, unless they're totally out there, pushing the envelope, like the recent JOKER. But I should really formulate a few paragraphs about WHY I hate his music and presence so much, which I can then copy/paste into relevant threads in the future, especially when he attacks franchises I DO care about (like STAR WARS and ROGUE ONE).

Please do! I'd genuinely like to understand your reasons for such despise. He's not the best, far from that, but he's a very efficient composer. Very much like Silvestry or Horner to some extent.

My curiosity about the project is pretty much limited to how he will approach the theme--over the top like Elf/Goldenthal or nu-metal like Zim.

Is it going to be a Marvel fun-for-the-whole-family type deal or a Joker/Dark Knight gritty-character-study?

Thanks for the challenge! I'm too drunk now to formulate anything meaningful, but I'll chime in tomorrow.

Thor and I are like Catwoman and Batman. We're usually on.opposite sides, but sometimes team up to battle a common enemy.

This isn't one of those times!

Sorry, Bruce. The glove is cast.

You know I have your back against the neocons and Zimmer haters. But, though I'm not a MG fan, he has done some fine work.
More than I can say for alot of composers out there.

No worries. I'll sweeten the argument by highlighting the (very few) MG scores I do kinda like.

Is Silvestry the twin brother of Silvestri?
