Hilariously, my order of Serpent and The Rainbow is still "in transit" with the USPS and has been since April 7. The guys at Awesome Distro replied to my email, but since it's shipped they can't really do anything about it. I wonder if this CD is just lost in the back of a mail truck somewhere!
Received my copy yesterday and have been playing it a lot. Very happy about this release. Contrary to what the liner notes say, only tracks 19, 20 and 23 of Olatunji's percussion tracks from CD 2 are featured in the film. Very happy that Varèse finally corrected the track titles for the original album presentation. Judging by the faulty old track listing, "Digging Out Grave" had probably been intended to close the A Side of the LP as "Dennis Dug Out" back then but was left off at the last minute, either on purpose or by mistake. Will we ever know what happened there?
