I think it's the best of varese's recent ' late ' JG efforts. Less reliance on pound shop synths and bland drum machines. Also there's some real music in amongst it all.

LOVE FIELD revelation: "Lost Luggage", on the original CD, is actually "The Accident" here. "Lost Luggage", on this album, is entirely new. All 10:33 of it. A mislabelling on the original album?

Don't know if you count Lionheart as "late" JG, but of course despite being one of Goldsmith's greatest scores (in my opinion), it only added two new cues to what was previously available. I think I agree with you that Love Field is the most significant Goldsmith expansion since...well, for me... Small Soldiers over 3 years ago! (Sorry Air Force One/US Marshals fans...) Yavar

Between the clips and the spirited discussion of the film, the Goldsmith Odyssey episode cannot arrive fast enough. Working on it right now!

Yavar I don't count Lionheart at all , at the moment. I have only played it once since it arrived. Such is my disappointment. Too many other goodies to play instead.

But if you want more. It has some good bits but the flow is ruined by crappy synths, that are out of place, for me.

I'm surprised the 1990s synths in 1960s-set Love Field don't bother you then! I'll be onboard for a complete acoustic only (well, maybe except for that IMO cool synth serpent sound for the Black Prince) re-recording of Lionheart whenever someone wants to Kickstart it. Yavar

Yavar I think, for me, the big kicker is that Lionheart is medieval/ middle ages. I'm from the Rozsa, Korngold, Newman, Waxman camp. Plus I think the synths are not very good sounding. I know I joke about them but do think they are some poorest/ jarring I know. In Love Field they are just 'less' - prominent, omnipresent( if that's the right usage)
