From Ray Harryhausen master of the majicks volume 2 :

It is something like this. Look the little note at the bottom of the page. I don't care to have jazz music but i don't want it to take the place of score titles.

By the way, i don't care to see sexy girls pics instead of animation photos in Harryhausen book !

No offense taken.

I certainly did not intend to start a Jazz vs Film Score tangent. In Schifrin's best work, whether soundtrack, big band jazz, or classical, he is a master. I just wanted to bring up that many of the tracks on the set, while jazz and not from movies, they are substantial and worth listening to. If it's not your thing, that's okay.

I consider myself lucky because in the late sixties, when my record collection was exclusively soundtracks, my older brother (by a dozen years) who was a jazz aficionado, perused my thirty or forty records and noticed the names of Lalo Schifrin and Quincy Jones. He very quietly, in his always dry manner, suggested that I might like to listen to Dizzy Gillespie's Gillespiana, because Schifrin had composed and arranged the entire album.

For my next birthday he gave me the Cannonball Adderley LP Experiment in E, which included the Schifrin composition, Dialogues for Jazz Quintet and Orchestra. For Christmas I received Quincy Jones' joyous album Walking in Space, to this day one of my all-time favorites.

So, like many of us, my tastes were formed early.

I have nothing against jazz, why do you say that ? I said that instead of jazz titles that i don't know i would prefer score titles that i know and like

Amazon France has changed their cover artwork, showing the familiar Schifrin photo that was first seen on the cover of the Once a Thief LP and subsequently on a CD compilation. Still no thorough breakdown of all the 16 discs; I did a blow by blow of the first ten and decided to leave it there.

Also, still no U.S. source for ordering this. I hope Screen Archives picks it up.

Ten days later. Still no U.S. news. 83 euros on Amazon France.

Screen Archives said they will not be carrying it.

Why not. It is because SAE has been winding down for the last few years.

Well, they didn't say. Now I'm hoping Amazon U.S. picks it up.

Ugh. Ill probably have to rummage around to find a reasonable price to shipping ratio.

I'd like to think that Amazon U.S. and--in your case--Canada will carry it. I think Amazon France is still in pre-order mode.

Thanks, but I want to avoid financing that Kojak coiffed nonce.

Might be worth inquiring with Intrada (Jeff Johnson) to see if they might be able to get it in for you, even as a special order? I've done that in the past with things they didn't have currently listed on their site...
