Is there anyway I can convince you at LLL to either put more CDs in the set - or make it the first of other multiple-disc volumes? wink

I've thought about that too. What if the series were released in volumes, say 2 disc volumes from each season but I guess I can see how 18 CD's might seem a little excessive, however I for one would gladly buy them all. I know some would say that it's way too much music but there is SO much music from the series it's gotta be hard narrowing it down.

La-La as far as your approach goes you say there will be music anywhere from 40-60 episodes. However being that they're several music cues from each episode.. will they be used as separate cues/tracks or constructed into a suite of sorts? In other words say you select music from a certain episode and there could be anywhere from 20-30 mins of music for each episode how will you choose which cues to use?

I`m sooooo excited about this release!!!

I really hope that the theme from "This Is Not Happening" is there! So powerful and epic.
Specially during the last scene where Scully is running in the woods, trying to save Mulders life and then gets there too late. Gives me chills!!

This music piece HAVE to be in this collection! I would buy it just for that one track! smile

I've never seen the show so I've started to watch. There is some good music in there.

I also can't freaking IMAGINE going through all, what 9 seasons of the show, to find the music.

La-La do you guys sit through ALL of that stuff to find what you like or does Snow have a decent idea as to what would be a good sell

Just curious that's all. I just can't imagine how much music you have to go through for 9 years at episodes that are 45 minutes long. YIKES

Goodness, I cannot WAIT for this to come out. Probably my all time favorite show (yep, all seasons included). The tricky thing is that in the midst of what seems like a so-so episode music-wise, all of a sudden Snow pulls out something incredibly gorgeous and moving. It's these small moments that I hope make it onto the set. I'm probably in the minority but I feel that the music got better as the show went on and some of the best music I find in seasons 8-9.

Can't wait!!!!

I also thought the music was more developed and melodic as the seasons progressed and I also enjoy all 9 seasons I know that some people weren't satisfied from season 7 on but there are a lot of good episodes in there.

So La La Land was touting this as an October release at Comic-Con, but considering all the previous delays, and the fact that there's been no word on this since the Con, is it safe to assume we WON'T be seeing this next month?

Anyone with news - whether in corroboration of this or not - is most welcome to share.

Guy.

It was mentioned in the other X-Files thread that it's expected first quarter 2011, barring any more issues.

Fine with me. It might be nice to not worry about one less "How the heck am I going to afford all these great releases! Arghh!" cd this season, if you know what I'm sayin.

I'm curious as to which cues will end up on the release. I'm sure it's well worth the wait! I'm going to be saturated with the FSM TNG boxset for a while anyway smile

Here's MV's direct quote from another topic:

As for the Big X, early/mid May. We just got in all the artwork files (took longer than expected) and Mark Banning is working on the booklet now.

smile I presume this is going to sell out very fast... Mark Snow has always been an excellent composer... I just wish more of his various series scores would be released.

La-La Land ...

Count me in for this to get.

Also do you need help in designing the cd art? I find that so much fun.

PS

....are you still releasing Planet of the Apes 2001 2-CD?

You are my FAVORITE LABEL!
