I noticed Goldenburg a lot in the early 70s - TV movies and such like - and each time it was for decent scores. I've mentioned it before his Lizzie Borden was a great score - the one with Elizabeth Montgomery.

The cool thing is that the more Goldenberg releases there are, the better they will sell because people will gradually become more familiar with him and his music. Indeed. Although I knew who he was, I'm mostly unfamiliar with Goldenberg's music, but I purchased Busting because the samples sounded like great funky fun. And the CD delivers, in nice and clean mono! Now I'll be looking for his name. Bruce, I should mention that it was because of your release of Two for the Seesaw that got me really into the scores of André Previn. I will ask, however, why there are so rarely music credits (orchestrators, engineers, etc.) on Kritzerland albums. Is this just due to a dearth of information about the scores?

The only way we usually get that info is on scores recorded under the AFM jurisdiction. When we have the info we use it - not in the booklets but on the website - go to the page listing and you'll see the link. Sometimes it takes the AFM a little while to get us the stuff and sometimes, if the score was recorded overseas or not via AFM, there's no info at all.

It can't be that easy to find out who played on the Little Shop of Horrors sessions, for example. Thanks for the heads-up on the links at the Kritzerland website! I'd not noticed those before.

So, no one has guessed our new title. So, here's a clew - it's not Spartacus. But it is from the same year.

It's an American composer, so Lavagnino's out. Maybe another Glasser score? The Boy and the Pirates or Tormented? Wouldn't that be incredible! Especially the former, especially if there was a small mini-suite from another Mr. BIG film included with it! I can tell you it would be an instant purchase for me.

I hope it's THE BOY AND THE PIRATES, which was my guess before the release of EARTH VS. THE SPIDER. I think that Billy Goldenberg did the score for 1970's RED SKY AT MORNING, a criminally underappreciated film. I used to have a soundtrack album for RED SKY back then, and liked that score very much. I hope so too! It's very Korngoldian.

Just have to hope for the best!.

I'm telling you, if it's Boy and the Pirates PLUS an additional TINY suite from another Mr. BIG film, well, I'm SO there. We'll know at midnight tonight.

Busting arrived today. It is unbelievable to hold this score in my hands - and it sounds great!! Bruce, with with you going through all these MGM titles, is "Hot Millions" with the beautiful 60-ish Laurie Johnson score a possibility? That part of MGM (the actual MGM releases) isn't owned by today's MGM - today's MGM controls the United Artists stuff - Hot Millions would be controlled by Warner Bros., I believe. Glad you like Busting!
