Yes Hedji, that's why I posted Wolfen as a possible title. wink

But this is just fun speculation. Just like when you were a kid and used to look at your presents under the Christmas tree and speculate what they could be based on the size and shape of the box.

Well some of us did, depending on how our customs were, for celebrating Christmas.

Just thought of something. Is it possible the complete scores to Batman and Batman Returns could be combined into a single 2disc set?

Wrong.

Just kidding!

BATMAN could definitely be a 2CD set.

Are all these guesses of Hook just pure speculation, or have there been recent hints of someone (LaLa Land or another label) producing it?

2 discs wouldn't be enough to cover this score if they want to include even half of the alternate takes. All of the "unmentionable" releases are 3 or 4 discs long to cover EVERYTHING.

OK, so if Batman is one of the 2 disc sets, why would it need to limited to either 3,000 or 5,000 copies if it was recorded in London?

OK, so Batman is one of the 2 disc sets.

Wait.... did I miss a post in this thread that confirmed it's definitely one of the upcoming SDCC releases?

HOOK would fit on 2 discs, including all the alternates. It'd only spill over to 3 if they wanted to repeat The Ultimate War twice, once with the inserts in To War!! and Crossed Swords, and once without.

The reason those boots are 3 and 4 discs is because they are all fan made and the fans who made them made a lot of poor choices, and included material recorded outside of the film's recording sessions.

All pure speculation based on the fact that LaLa Land has some sort of relation with Sony or what have you.

I say it's all just wishful thinking.

Most speculation is, unless a clue is given.

Did LLL say anything about alternates? Why is everyone so concerned with whether all alternate takes will fit on a disc? Are complete scores no longer even enough to satiate people around here?

In the case of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the alternates are necessary.

LaLaLand, nor MV Gerhard, said anything other than 5000 & 3000, 2 disc sets.

We're just speculating what we would like to see with TMP if and when it gets the deluxe treatment. And there are some cases where the alternates are unique and different enough to be included. This is one of those cases.

Precisely. The alternates are the reason I want an expansion of TMP. Yeah, there's a few nice warp speed cues that were omitted, and some fine quotes of the Courage theme, but the alternates (especially The Enterprise) are stunning achievements that need to be heard.

I agree that the alternates are necessary for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, as are the Courage-arranged Captain's Log cues. Not just for some treating-tracks-as-bottlecaps OCD completism reasons, but so they can be LISTENED TO and ENJOYED. They really are great, and oh to have them in clean sound!

For the people that think the existing releases of ST:TMP are enough... well you don't have to buy any such expanded CD, and I'm sure there's more than enough stuff being released by all these labels, and enough other stuff you may want to buy, that you wouldn't begrudge such a release coming out for those who DO want it.

What's that, you would begrudge it? Thanks a bunch!

Yea, we need the alternates - my comment on 3 discs was just an observation that to get ALL the cues you will need that many discs. but 2 will give you the score and the major alternates (yes, you need the alternate ENTERPRISE cue as it is a completely different cue, but do you really need the Klingon Battle alternate that is pretty much the same as the film version, with just a quicker tempo? If you say yea, then you need three discs, if nay, then Jayl is spot on and 2 discs will do the trick).

Is it possible for the 3000 one to be Galaxy Quest? Probably not long enough for 2 discs...

I know I'm reaching with all my suggestions, but I'm just getting a feel for what you guys think about some of these titles.

As part of this special occasion we plan on debuting 3 new titles – PREDATORS, and Two Different 2-Disc sets (one at 5000 units and one at 3000 units). These titles will be making their world premiere down at the Con. You will be able to buy them there first, should you happen to be going. On July 15th we will be issuing a press release as to what these titles will be.

I have an angel on one shoulder telling me, "Scott, don't think about it. MV and the gang will announce the titles on the 15th - it's just three weeks away!"

And the devil on my other shoulder is asking me, "Whatisit whatisit whatisit?!?"

I wonder... are the scores making their world premiere, or simply the albums? If it's the albums, then they could be anything. But if it's the scores, then I have to agree with one of the posters above: are there any unreleased scores that are a.) popular enough to warrant 5000 copies and b.) have Comic-Con appeal?

Over at Trek Movie, Jeff Bond implied that there are some issues that have to be worked out before TMP is expanded, so I doubt the 5000 unit album will be that.

of the 4 batman (burton/something about shooe) score i think Batman and Robin are the first one to be released since that one was unreleased

it could also be batman 1 and batman 4 being released - two different film scores

there is also ARMAGEDDON or other Rabin/Williams scores - though it's disney i believe BAD BOYS was also disney ? or am i wrong

About Star trek - who says it has to be the films - there are T.O.S, Next Generation, Voyager, Deep Space Nine, Enterprise

Could the 3000 release be BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (1978) at long last?
