Stephen, he's been doing this same things for many years. He's just looking for a response and indignation. It is best just to ignore him and carry on...

Fanboys. Always so defensive. wink

You're really giving Goldsmith fans a bad name dude.
Why don't you just let these nice people enjoy their non-Goldsmith release. K?

There are plenty of Goldsmith threads for you to participate in.

Good advice. Always best to ignore trolls like Goldsmith-rulez, particularly on Barry related topics wink

Body Heat and King Kong - WOW!

This is really incredible. All of the CD labels have released some great holy grails this year and all I can say is thank you and of course buy them. My Christmas list is growing, I hope my family can afford it this year.

Now is there a company out there who can work a deal and get The Man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker expanded?

Honestly, what's your problem? I did say I own the LP, so obviously I have some affection for this score. Those who like Barry's scores and don't own this one, they should go out an buy this, because it's one of his better works.

I just wanted to find out if there is substantial new material that warrants a re-buy except for the nerdiest of nerds, and according to the samples, IMO it does not. I did say the same about the latest of the (now) myriad versions of Star Trek:TMP.

It is only fans who, deep down, are feeling insecure that their beloved composer's work might not have as much merit as they hope, that are lashing out at any alternative view or even the slightest criticism. Poor fellas. wink

This from somebody who started being critical about John Barry's ability as a composer on an FSM RIP thread just a few days after his death.

Realistically, how long is this one going to be around?

I've got score requests tailgating several deep. And my priority algorithm is going nuts!

It'll be nice to finally have this without the cheesy LP sound effects.

you mean the "original lp" disc leaves them out???!

i like the effects heard after Kong breaks thru the gate and is gassed

The original sound effects - they sing in tandem with Barry.

The Deep - complete!
The Black Hole - complete!
Body Heat - complete!
King Kong - complete!

A remarkable quartet from Intrada and FSM.

Basically unbelievable!

Oh my God - We the fans have waited for this moment for sooooooooo long:-) Can't express the joy I feel right now. I bought the bootleg Mask edition in 97' (I'm looking at it right now) and to put it kindly it is an inferior mess. Annoying tape hiss and shortened cues are just a few of the things wrong with this bootleg mess. Even the 2005 FSM release was subpar, but now we have the FULL score - hallelujah this made my year. Celebration all around people.

Fanboys? You should talk. Your membership name says it all. Why you and some of your fellow hardcore Goldsmith fans (you know who you are...) feel the need to invade every thread with your misplaced comments is beyond me. It's more than an 'alternative view or the slightest criticism', sometimes it's downright insulting and vicious.
You of all people should know how Mr. Goldsmith felt about SOME of his fans who worshipped the ground he walked on...I really think he wouldn't like you. And if this 'proves your point', so be it. I think you're the poor fella.

A two-CD release of KING KONG? I got the old LP (with the poster), and that one was already really repetitive.

This one will be different. Missing Cues have been included. How can you not take advantage of this.

You can't not.

The question still stands. When does it sell out?

Luc just ignore him. Don't let him rain on your parade. There are plenty of happy Barry fans who chimed in. Don't let a couple of sour pusses get the satisfaction of riling you up. smile
