Not to get off the subject but thanks everyone for responding to my Wing Cmdr. sdtk question. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just hoping for an expanded release. I hope Sonic Images will allow LLL or any other record label expanded this bombastic cool score.

As for BOBW oh yeah my wallet says no but I say bring it on!

smile

OK, beyond just knowing that there are unreleased tracks...

What exactly is missing you want from the score?

Can you point to a couple of examples?

Sadly I don't suffer clueless fools very well.

Ford A. Thaxton

So you're not on here because you're an expert and could possibly help people less fortunate than you (being involved IN the industry) to understand the process? Or at least you're not on here to do what most people do here? - engage in conversation about something about which they're passionate, hoping a) to connect with others and b) learn something you didn't know, or c) impart some of your vast experience on those in need of it.

Ford, I think you're an excellent producer and have decades of experience you can share with people who either a) have no exposure to the ins and outs or b) are just starting out on their journey in soundtrack collecting.

I find that typically those who don't "suffer clueless fools" don't come off as knowledgeable and intelligent, but rather just as sad and frustrated. I think you (and most people on this board) deserve more.

My request (and you don't know me from Don Adams) would be that you realize how lucky you are (regardless of all the hard work you've put in!) to be in this crazy business, and try to have a bit more patience with those who don't know what you know. I'm willing to believe there are subjects about which you know little - isn't it possible you're pissing off some expert somewhere on the planet with the questions you ask? How else were you able to become so brilliant? razz

In any case, speech over. I just really like your work and find it frustrating and difficult to reconcile that passion and commitment to the grouchpants on FSM. Double razz.

Ford, my biggest REQUEST was that on the DS9 set you include the battle cue from Armagedon Game and the famous cue from Sacrifice of Angels when Starfleet engages the Dominion Fleet. I was shocked it wasnt on there.

In this life, sometimes you just don't get everything you want.

Sometimes you just don't have room for everything you want.

Such is life.

No, I've had to cut stuff I really wanted, but you sometimes just have to flip a coin and see what wins out

What were personal favorites you had to cut because of space limitations?

Or in this case, "sometimes you just have to flip a gold-pressed slip of latinum...." big grin

(I'm still loving the hell out of my DS9 set, by the way.)

To Ford:

How do you feel about expanding some of the late Arthur Kemple's work, particularly The Arrival?

Not a lot there to expand really.

Art was given a free hand on that one and as far as I'm concerned it covers what matters.

What is missing exactly?

Speaking of your catalogue, I know it's a pipe dream but gnpcrescendo is there any remote hope of a further exploration of Quantum Leaps music? smile there is so much of Velton's music that I had hoped would get released.

That's more of a Mark Banning Question, since he produced that album for GNP.

As for an expanded edition of WING COMMANDER, maybe someday.

I'm gonna hold you to that, sir.

The TNG two-parter "Redemption" will be released on Blu-Ray in July.

I wonder if there will be a release of McCarthy's rousing score. So far, GNP released only stuff they got the rights for in perpetuity. Maybe La-La Land could step in for this one...

though i must say the best of both worlds movie release was disappointing. i'm all for good extras and i suppose it delivered there but when they cut the two episodes together we lost the amazing to be continued moment and music! madness

To be honest, I didn't find it all that rousing.

Ford I will start a new thread regarding Wing Commander. Sorry folks I don't mean to keep on posting it on this thread.

Thank you.

There's about 20 Mins of score on the film not on the album, particularly a 5min action/suspense highlight at the end before the finale. That music is heard in the trailer as well. Always stood out to me. Might that have been composed by someone else?

To each his own. I always liked Dennis' music for the opening battle of part 2 and discovery of the Romulan ships. Unfortunately the score is pretty much buried in the mix.
