Yeah, like that, John. Thanks. That QB VII cover is really great, though.

It isn't what he meant, but I'm nevertheless grateful for what you did, because I actually rather like the official alternate cover for the Tadlow QBVII, but longed for a cover for my original Goldsmith-conducted QBVII album, and your gorgeous work is perfect for that purpose.

Oops. Check the spelling of "an Choris."

I'm guilty of this sort of thing myself... usually after I've printed a cover out.

Yeah, I guess the light color on light background is impossible to read. I guess I also don't really care because it's just going to be used for iTunes artwork and I can't even see that word! Haha

What programs do you guys use? My photoshop trial ended and the only purchase options I can find are 25 bucks per month 'deals', like wth.

Personally I use Photoshop, bought the CS6 Master Collection pack a couple of years ago and still use it today. Tried the CC trial and it definitely has a lot of new interesting features, but I’m happy enough with CS6 that I don’t feel the need to upgrade just yet.

There’s a web-based program called Photopea which is very similar to Photoshop, I think it’s free otherwise there’s a premium at $9 per month.

There’s also GIMP which is open source, it’s basically the OpenOffice equivalent to Photoshop, the interface differs somewhat, but you can a version that mimics the Adobe’s look and feel.

Hope this was of some help wink

Same as Tintacle – CS6 here too (I'm not a fan of the subscription model).

Another option that's looking increasingly viable these days, between the free-but-clunky world of GIMP and the excellent-but-expensive world of Photoshop, is Affinity Photo, which is about fifty quid (or similar dollar amount); the interface and feature list look pretty similar to PS.

I use Paint Shop Pro. It's a poor man's photoshop, but then I am a poor man.

That's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.

And GIMP is free!

I use Photoshop CC as part of the Adobe CC post production bundle and for some specific effects I use After Effects.
But this is very expensive if you're only doing this as a hobby.
I would strongly advise getting Affinity Photo. which seems to be the best equivalent to Photoshop for a much much cheaper price and no monthly subscription.

I feel somewhat cheeky making a request, but has anyone done covers for the Elmer Bernstein Film Music Collection? There's a great Kings of the Sun cover, but the rest are pretty uninspiring (unlike the recordings which are terrific!).

I've been dreaming about those specific custom covers myself, Tom smile

Lovely Vikings cover there, Chris

I was a Photoshop user until my computer died. I've used the best free option, GIMP, ever since.
The Bernstein Box is a project I'd like to tackle properly one day, but there are plenty of serviceable covers available here: https://lpcover.wordpress.com/page/2/?s=elmer+bernstein
