From the link above: "Additionally, Williams holds the record for scoring multiple films in two different franchises. He has provided the score for six Star Wars films and three Indiana Jones movies. "

Ooops... Three Indiana Jones movies? Six Star Wars scores?

The author probably wanted to say "oscar nominated scores" instead of just scores. Williams was nominated for the 3 OT and PT Star Wars (so 6 movies) and the first three Indiana Jones. But yeah, curious two sentences...
(and while we are at it, Williams was also double nominated for the Harry Potter series)

Except he wasn't actually nominated for any of the PT scores, but maybe the author of that article just assumed he was...

Sorry PT should be read as ST (Sequel Trilogy), indeed williams was nominated from Ep IV to IX.
Too many Star Wars trilogies ;-)

Going to see this again to enjoy the music loud and epic in the big theater one more time! Last time I saw it I thought “man, I know Ive said this before, but this might really be the last Star Wars movie with the opening crawl and big fanfare from John Williams, and that is kind of sad! Especially with him being almost 88, it’s crazy that this movie really is it for him.”

Going to stay all the way through the credits and close my eyes and enjoy the epic soundtrack to a galaxy far far away....

The hell, I’ve been liking around in the film score scene forever and used to post on the old old newsgroup, and I’ve never been so thoroughly disgusted or disappointed. And yeah, I registered just to say that.

It didn't take me long to figure out the two posters you IGNORED, Grack!

wink

Yeah it’s fairly blatant.

Listening to the OST without seeing the movie it sounds a bit Greatest Hits-ish.

Well, to be fair, it was intended to be a musical summation of the saga so that is to be expected. The end credits piece is the real "Greatest Hits" track, seeing as how incorporates material from the OT scores.

Easily my favorite of the sequel trilogy scores. I do wish that the films had let Williams do more "set pieces" - these films felt more inclined to momentum but never any movement - like the Battle Of Hoth or the Asteroid Field.

But that third track that shares the title of the film is lovely, and some of the variations in the score are really what was missing from TLJ.

Each score in the sequel trilogy bests the one preceding it in my opinion. I enjoyed it in the film and the album is even better. I still need to listen to the FYC version.

I'm sad that Williams is saying farewell to Star Wars, but he had to at some point. Nine scores across 42 years is quite an accomplishment. If anyone's earned a vacation, it's him. I'm glad the series and the scores went out with a bang.

Bravo!

Jason is there a way to download as MP3s? I am only able to open them as web links to listen to. I know there were files to download for "The Last Jedi" FYC soundtrack.
